This star became a shooting star that we will probably never see again.

The most shocking thing about Oier Lazkano is that his biological passport showed anomalies throughout his three years at Movistar. There wasn't a single year without a problem. This is scary, especially when I add yesterday's Vinicius Rangel case to the mix. Something has gone very wrong there in the last two years. The fact that Red Bull acted relatively quickly and, probably based on some tip-off, immediately withdrew him from all competition from April onwards was a smart decision. Although, if I think about it, it's not the first signing from them that has gone down the drain, but at least it came to light quickly...

Personally, I feel hugely disappointed, mainly because Lazkano's style was very sassy and aesthetically pleasing, and I could identify with it. He was also very authentic in the way he played for the Spanish national team as a Basque, trying to continue the persistent traditions of the region, and I feel that he has now sort of destroyed a part of this institution.
