@ZhengpingLiow @RizwanRukaiya Icons are also a way for a country to stand out and earn economical value. I think that is a more positive outlook. But icons can also be just a person's craving for fame so it really depends how you see it I guess.

@SNurzawanah I feel that architects can be also called artist who design spaces for usage within the laws of physics. They take inspiration from the world and from the people around them, much like artist do. Don't you agree?

So apparently... one of the reasons our modern office buildings is made of mainly steel and glass is due to Ludwig Mies van de Rohe, a germany architect who became a US citizen. The idea of steel and glass buildings came from his idea of "Less is More".

@amav03 if you do look at the past buildings, you should be able to tell if the building belongs to a well to do civilization. The more well to do they are, the more high quality buildings there should be.

@RizwanRukaiya The existence for architectural theory is still debatable. However, architectural theory has been reduced to abstract concepts and notions that are usually Non-chronological. In the end what is done for theory is also in practice for real work so it's just a matter of naming.

@okaysx1 I believe architecture of the past is still present in the future. For example, round domes that you see in current designs actually originate from ancient Rome if u recall correctly.
