@mars_quaking@TheSignalHorn Section 5.8 talks about how PoW can be used for spam or DDoS mitigation, this is nothing new. It uses Bitcoin as an example but doesnt explain how Bitcoin PoW is reusable or how it protects networks other than its own.
@doz_not@aeonBTC@PlebSource@Parasite_wtf@OrdinalMaxiBiz@BobbyShakesX Decentralization means not relying on a central point of failure. Parasite pool requires centralized pool operators to host and run the pool, just like every other pool does. You mislead people like the other parasite pool people and Ocean pool does.
@LukeDashjr@elkrun21@aeonBTC I called you out for lying about Ocean/Datum being decentralized and you call me a bad actor?
If Ocean servers go down there's no pool and DATUM miners have no way of coordinating with each other for share accounting. The truth is that you are the liar and the bad actor Luke.
@1btc1bitcoin@aeonBTC@GregTonoski@mononautical Why did you block me after replying? Classic coward move.
It doesnt matter if its op_return, its the same function. Filters either cause orphans or they dont. Sub sat summer had a way higher filter rate, yet no orphans attributed to it.
@CaminaDrummer4@aeonBTC@NEEDcreations@CobraBitcoin@itme_brain When CTV is activated it wont matter what your node says about it, it will validate the blocks with the txs just like it validated sub sat feerate txs even though your node filters them. Soft forks are backwards compatible and it doesnt matter if your node supports it or not.
@pavlenex@aeonBTC@StratumV2 Now youre just twisting the argument. The misinformation is in Sv2 and Ocean claiming their pool architecture is decentralized when its demonstrably not.
Nice move by replying and then blocking my other account because you cant justify the fact that you mislead people.
@GrassFedBitcoin Why dont you guys just crowdfund ~5000 knots nodes so you can end the madness instead of brigading github repos. That would solve the problem right?
@GrassFedBitcoin@aeonBTC@ocean_mining Enough with the charade. Ocean pays for, owns, and runs the pool servers that the miners connect to. Ocean dictates the coinbase and can reject templates conditionally. It's a client-server relationship like any other. Ocean is at risk of regulatory pressure like any other pool.
@GrassFedBitcoin@Singekino_Miner@aeonBTC@Arceris_btc@ocean_mining Its not decentralized if Ocean can reject templates. When I solo mine no one can reject my templates, except for the network, if the block is invalid. It would be more accurate to call it template outsourcing.
@GrassFedBitcoin@bradmillscan@aeonBTC@ocean_mining You admitted in this thread that Ocean controls the coinbase tx and verifies all templates submitted to the pool. Ocean is centralized and therefore participation in the pool and payouts from the pool can be made conditional. Stop being dishonest.

Some questions I have around Ocean:
1. Are small hashers paid by Ocean on chain (or LN) if they are not large enough to get a payout in the coinbase?
2. Are templates generated by hashers validated by Ocean for correct coinbase?
3. Are templates generated by hashers used for normalising payouts by fees? Therefore are the templates validated by Ocean first?
