We live in a broken world full of broken people. But isn’t it comforting to know God isn’t ever broken? He isn’t ever caught off guard, taken by surprise, or shocked by what happens next in our lives.
We are safe in His hands.
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its water roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Psalm 46:1-3
Genesis 40:23 “Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.”
Joseph’s falsely accused, imprisoned. Pharaoh’s cupbearer gets thrown into the same dungeon. Has a dream. God gives Joseph the interpretation: Pharaoh will reinstate the cupbearer in 3 days. Happens.
We have burned down our evangelical witness. Burned it to the ground. But here is what I know. I know God can bring beauty from ashes. I believe He will raise up a people purified by the very fires we set. A people defined by Jesus Himself, not denomination nor political party.
Not forgiving someone isn’t teaching that person a lesson, nor is it protecting you in any way. It’s making the choice to stay in pain, sweet friend.
Living in the comfort of peace is so much better than living in the constraints of unforgiveness.

How we treat other Christians who disagree with our political views may be the true John 13 test of our day. Every disciple disagreed with Jesus politics, (kingdom, Romans, now) yet he died for them, and empowered them to seek his kingdom first anyway.
