I’m for one so thankful there are amazing people like @AACWESTNHS who give non-verbal people a voice through high technology. Thank you so much for what you do!❤️

We had to contribute to #PetsOfOTWeek23 as we love spending time with Spud, our Head of Wellbeing, as one of our team’s meaningful occupation 🐶💚 #OTWeek2023 @theRCOT

[AAC West of England Specialist Team (AAC WEST) @AACWESTNHS]

What is your favourite occupation? Ours is communication! We LOVE to communicate and we love to help others to communicate.
Communication is SO important and often taken for granted. We invite you to think about all the things you’ve communicated about today #OTWeek23 @theRCOT

[AAC West of England Specialist Team (AAC WEST) @AACWESTNHS]

What are occupations? They are essential to living. They give our lives meaning, purpose and structure. They help shape who we are, connect us with others and help create our identity and sense of belonging. Through occupation we enhance our health and quality of life. #OTWeek23

[AAC West of England Specialist Team (AAC WEST) @AACWESTNHS]

We at AAC WEST are celebrating #OTWeek by talking about about occupations in the context of AAC.
Imagine for a moment if you couldn't communicate with your colleagues, friends and loved ones about your meaningful occupations. If you couldn't talk about your weekend plans ...

For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.

I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).

We’ve sent a letter to Matt Hancock about lack of PPE for AHPs on the frontline and in social care, along with @theCSP @ParamedicsUK @SCoRMembers @RCSLT and 7 other @AHPbodies. The safety and wellbeing of AHPs needs to be a top priority https://t.co/konjwL7hA9

A very successful morning of craft with pre-school children visiting acute patients. This gentleman lit up throughout the session and talked non stop about it on returning to the ward “what a lovely time, I wish I could’ve stayed longer. It took me back to being their age” 1/2

Spent yesterday at the DSC in Gillingham learning about the prosthetic rehab our amputees will receive. The skill required to make the prosthetics is amazing! The course was so interesting and is a must for anyone working with amputees at any stage their treatment
