Day 20: 701 words. This project takes more than last year's project. A novel is forgiving: if you have 20 minutes to spare, you can bust out a scene. But a researched book takes more intentionality in thought and time. Piano piano, small moves forward. #thepredatorswithin
Day 1 of #the100dayproject in 2023. I’m going back to #thepredatorswithin which I’ve been working on over a decade. I’m close. Only 2-4 chapters to go. Here’s to wilting joy. Here’s to still finding beauty and hope.
Day 1: read through first three chapters of draft. Done.
1/10 done. Slow re-entry but I can slowly feel the gears beginning to budge a bit. My feelings now tell me I’ve lost the project for good. My experience with this book and others is that it will come back as I faithfully work.
In any case, I am so grateful for #leahpantea’s art
Round 2 Day 1 game thread (1/4): (1) @dexysofficial, “Come On Eileen” (essay Em Pasek) vs (9) M|A|R|R|S, “Pump Up the Volume” (essay @c_biondolillo). Which is the raddest song? Read, listen, vote by 9am 3/14 here and at: https://t.co/Dk5VbhA4fS
Today my students stopped me in my conversation to write down what I said as a quote. Not notes, but a quote. I am not sure if I’m flattered or brought back to when I wrote down teacher quotes and just called them class notes.
