Before voting in Alberta’s referendum today, watch what happened when I walked into the final Forever Canada rally yesterday carrying an Alberta flag.

Canadians pride themselves on being polite, peaceful, tolerant and welcoming. Yet nearly all of the people I encountered were aggressive, insulting and unwilling to have a conversation.

What struck me was the contrast between the Canadian values being celebrated and the behaviour I witnessed.

I struggled to break through that hostility, but toward the end, something changed. A few actually began listening and talking peacefully. So there is some hope.

The Canada we grew up loving is changing into what you see in this video, and that’s part of why I support Alberta independence.

Watch the conversations, judge the behaviour for yourself, and decide what team you want to be on! Then go and vote, hopefully for Option 2 on Question 10.

I showed up at the final Forever Canada rally at the Alberta Legislature as one of the only Alberta independence supporters in a crowd of Canadian nationalists.

I came to ask questions, challenge ideas, and have conversations.

Instead, I was met with hostility, insults, swearing, and people who clearly didn’t want me there. At times, police officers had to stand nearby for my protection.

Here’s the irony: These people were rallying to defend Canada, a country that supposedly stands for freedom of expression and democratic debate.

Yet some couldn’t tolerate one Albertan peacefully expressing a different political opinion.

If Canada is worth defending, shouldn’t freedom of expression be worth defending too?

Watch and judge for yourself.

I will always advocate for an Independent Alberta!

However, there is another side of the coin…

This is what Liberal democracy is all about folks; a battle to win over the constituent’s minds to vote you into power.

Forever Canada Rally Edmonton Alberta Oct. 18th 2026.

We’ve got a lot of work to do…

We need unity in the Alberta Independence movement; that’s one thing I’ve learned from Forrver Canadians.

@Alyxxina On Monday I will hold my head up high and say I did my best. I hope we win independence because the future of Canada is looking bleak.

@jkenney A politician with class and sensibility would not double down on such a terrible attack on Christian voters.

But please @jkenney tell me more about true Christianity…

The interviewer didn’t hold back. Neither did I.

My CPAC interview about Alberta’s future turned into a spirited, hard-hitting exchange.

I’m heading to the legislature in Edmonton today for the Independence Rally!

An Older Alberta Independence Supporter Gives a Young Canadian a History Lesson!

At the Alberta Legislature, a young counter-protester argued that Canada could still be fixed. Then an older independence supporter joined our conversation.

When the young man blamed older generations for Canada's problems, the gentleman challenged him on his ageism and walked him through more than a century of Western Canadian history.

From the creation of Alberta in 1905 to Louis Riel, Preston Manning's Reform Party, and decades of unsuccessful attempts at constitutional reform, he made a compelling case for why so many Albertans have lost faith in Ottawa.

The young man pushed back, but he also listened.

Two generations, two very different perspectives, and a fascinating debate about Alberta's future.

Two Canadians. Two VERY Different Approaches to Debate.

At the Alberta Legislature, I was having a thoughtful conversation with a young man who opposed independence. We were discussing whether Canada had become too big and politically divided to govern effectively.

Meanwhile, another counter-protester kept circling us, obnoxiously singing a rather painful rendition of "O Canada," apparently determined to drown out our conversation.

The irony was hard to miss.

One Canadian was defending his country with thoughtful arguments. The other was defending it by making as much noise as possible.

Which one do you think made the stronger impression?

Should Canadians Over 70 Lose Their Right to Vote?

At the Alberta Legislature, a young Forever Canadian accused an older independence supporter’s generation of being responsible for the problems facing Canada.

He was frustrated about housing affordability and worried he'd never own a home. Then he brought up an astonishing idea he'd heard: people over 70 shouldn't be allowed to vote because the country isn't for them anymore. He clarified that it wasn't his own proposal.

The older gentleman challenged him on his ageism.

What fascinates me is the generational divide. Young Canadians recognize that something is seriously wrong, but frustration can turn into blaming scapegoats rather than examining the policies, institutions and decisions responsible, the same ones they are being led to support by voting to stay in Canada.

What do you think?

He Opposes Alberta Independence... And Says We Should Start Our Own Political Party!

At the Alberta Legislature, I asked a Canadian counter-protester why he opposed the independence referendum.

He believes independence supporters should form a political party, elect MLAs, develop a clear plan and address constitutional questions BEFORE holding a referendum.

I challenged him on that. I personally helped collect signatures through the citizen initiative process established under Alberta law.

We also debated whether independence supporters have appropriated the Alberta flag, what Quebec's independence movement teaches us, and whether the economic uncertainty of separation outweighs the uncertainty of remaining in Canada.

He raised some thoughtful objections, and we found areas of agreement despite our very different views.

Which approach to constitutional change makes more sense to you? You know my opinions on this...

Young Canadian Admits An Independent Alberta Would Be Easier to Govern!

At the Alberta Legislature, I had an interesting conversation with a young man who opposes independence.

He raised concerns about young Canadians who aren't working or studying, the difficulty of finding meaningful employment, and businesses relying on temporary foreign workers.

He argued that these are cultural problems that independence wouldn't magically fix.

So I asked him a simple question:

Would Alberta have a better chance of addressing these problems with Ottawa making decisions for us, or by governing ourselves?

His response surprised me. He acknowledged that reaching consensus would be easier with a smaller population, where political power is closer to the voters, where decisions are made by people directly affected... although he still opposed separation.

We agreed on some of the problems. We disagreed about the solution.

What do you think?

He LOVES Freedom. But Does He Know What's Happening to It?

At the Alberta Legislature, a young Forever Canadian passionately declared his love for Canada and its freedoms.

An older independence supporter asked him a simple question:

"Have you examined the last five bills that the federal government has passed?"

The young man admitted he hadn't and was dismissive of the question.

The older gentleman argued that those bills restrict freedoms the young man claims to cherish.

To me, this exchange illustrates a much bigger problem.

Canadians can be passionate about their country while knowing surprisingly little about the legislation shaping their rights and freedoms.

We argue about politicians, generations and political identities, but how often do we examine the actual laws and institutions governing our lives?

I believe the problem goes deeper than Liberals versus Conservatives. We need to question the system itself.

This is exactly the kind of conversation that makes me interested in building a better system of government for Alberta and why I am voting Option 2 on Question 10 this Monday Oct 19.

We BOTH Agree the System Is Broken. So Why Not Fix It?

At the Alberta Legislature, a passionate Forever Canadian and I discovered something surprising: we agreed that wealthy and powerful people too often escape accountability.

She wanted corrupt politicians held accountable. So did I.

But when I suggested Alberta independence would give us an opportunity to build a better system that actually does that, she pushed back.

She loves Canada and believes Canadians can organize to reform it without separating.

I challenged her: after decades of Western Canadians demanding reform, what makes her believe the system will finally change?

We agreed on the problem. We disagreed about the solution.

Should Albertans keep trying to reform Confederation, or consider building a different system?

I've given up hope for Canada to be fixed. It is working as it was designed. I'm voting for Independence for Alberta!
