@thameswater shocking customer experience with amateurs. Many emails sent in last 3 weeks with no response. Chris Weston & Esther Sharples should be ashamed of the service they provide, despite stating they have a strong passion for making things better for customers!
University applications to nursing are down 17% this year. One in three nurses leave degree programmes early. In 2022 there was a 25% increase in nurses leaving … 7,000 compared to 2021 two thirds were under 45yrs… (Roy Lilley, 8th Aug 2023). Catastrophe coming!
@RCN_Press@patcullen9 You sabotaged our outcome by managing an incredibly poor campaign to the membership & subsequently capitulating & advising the acceptance of a measly 5%, having started at 19%. Pathetic amateurs @theRCN
@theRCN You sabotaged our outcome by managing an incredibly poor campaign to the membership & subsequently capitulating & advising the acceptance of a measly 5%, having started at 19%. Pathetic & fact @theRCN
@theRCN Negotiations are similar to poker and the Nurses trusted Pat Cullen and the RCN to play our hand. But despite starting with a pair of Aces, the Government put us “All In” whilst holding 7/2 off suit - and Pat Cullen folded! And NOW you want to write to the Health Sec. Amateurs!
@theRCN The time for writing to the Health Secretary trying to play hard ball, is not after you have sabotaged our outcome by managing an incredibly poor campaign to the membership and subsequently capitulating and advising the acceptance of a measly 5%, having started at 19%. Pathetic.
After setting a #UK_record with 9 #RARP per day in February.
Today, we outperformed our previous achievement and carried out 12 RARPs, a #world_record!
#Waiting_list cut by 25% in a single day!
Kudos to our team @RoyalSurrey , leading the way in prostate cancer care!
You have voted to reject the NHS pay offer for nursing staff in England.
Next steps:
- Seek urgent talks with UK govt
- 48-hour strike from 8pm 30 April, without derogations
- England-wide statutory ballot to extend current strike mandate

@theRCN Of the people that bothered to vote @RoyalSurrey 90% voted strike. But only 48% of eligible nurses voted! If 14 more nurses eligible to vote, had, we would have won the right to strike @RoyalSurrey even if all 14 voted against!
Interesting #RCNstrike numbers @RoyalSurrey Of the people that bothered to vote, 90% voted strike. But only 48% of eligible nurses voted! If 14 more nurses eligible to vote, had, we would have won the right to strike @RoyalSurrey even if all 14 voted against #FairPayforNurses
Today we have released the results of our strike ballot, showing we have a mandate for strike action in the majority of NHS employers.
Members will be contacted by email with full results for their employer.

After years of underpayment, nursing is facing yet another real terms pay cut – under current plans, an experienced nurse will still lose £935 from the pay they take home. Nursing deserves better.

We welcome the appointment of @lregan7 as Women’s Health Ambassador for England. Dementia has been the leading cause of death for women for over a decade and it’s vital that this is addressed.
This stark reality is exacerbated by the current hospital restrictions on visiting, where at least family could visit to provide basic care/comfort. My worst nightmare has played out, with the admission of Dad into an #NHS hospital that is on the bones of its arse!
Those living with #dementia receive the rawest of care & are in the most neglected corner of any hospital setting. With no voice or cognition to communicate the most basic of need for fluid or food, they are left dehydrated & nutritionally depleted. @alzheimerssoc@DementiaUK
@mbismark We’re also having to put signs up next to Dads bed to say “Please be patient with me, I can’t communicate as I have dementia, please can I also have a drink”Mum takes jelly & juice for the 1hr she’s there, but we assume beyond that he may not receive much more! #NHS@DementiaUK
@mbismark@NaiClatsNurse I couldn’t agree more! We’re allowed 1 visitor (the same visitor) for 1hr a day. Family provide so much support, which in turn ultimately helps ward staff. Dad has advanced dementia & is left alone for hours! @alzheimerssoc@DementiaUK
@emilyoliverdem @PortsmouthSja @QAHospitalNews @coconnor5757 Such a superb & significant role for those living with dementia & especially at a time of great distress! Dementia funding/support is the poor relation to other diseases/disorders. Having spent New Year’s Day in A&E with my father who has dementia, I applaud @QAHospitalNews 👏👏
