Let’s talk about VAT.

RESTORE Britain has just announced a fully costed plan to reduce VAT to 18%, and to increase the VAT threshold (the point at which businesses start to charge VAT) to £150k.

Upping the VAT threshold to £150k will have a profoundly positive impact on sole traders, small and medium business.

As a multiple small business owner I can tell you that hitting the current threshold at circa £90k turnover is a milestone not to be celebrated. The administrative impact VAT has on small business operations is onerous. Business is essentially used as a tax collection agent for HMRC.

This is precisely the sort of sane, common sense, costed policy that will drive the economy forwards.

Free business from aggressive overheads and red tape. Let enterprises thrive and let entrepreneurs loose.

This is remarkably simple stuff really, but the Left never have and never will get it.

I left school at 15yrs & went into full-time employment.

Married at 19yrs & went on & had 2 children.

We paid taxes all our working life

We eventually paid our mortgage off, helped our children get on the property ladder.

I certainly am not prepared to allow this government to take everything we have worked hard for in order to pay for others that just stroll into this country & are given everything for free.

There are a lot of others in the same situation who’ve always done right by this country.

We as a family have not taken a penny in benefits from this country.

This government needs to get their priorities right & start treating UK Citizens with the respect they deserve.
