Cyberattack on Franceβs national blood service (EFS) via its refrigeration contractor Coolworld. Hackers reset freezers keeping blood donor samples at -30Β°C to a target of 110Β°C. The thing that stopped it from destructive impact was an on-call technician who noticed the temperatures going up. Frozen plasma intended for transfusion was stored there too. Fortunately nothing was destroyed. This was a cyberattack on a sensitive layer of healthcare. From frozen peas to boiling plasma in three weeks...?
Taleb. Jobs. Musk. Naval. Peterson.
These are the five modern thinkers and doers who shaped how I think and build more than anyone else. Not idols. A foundation. Each one gave me a different piece of the operating system you need to build something real in a world that's tipping over.
Here's what each of them taught me, through my lens.
NASSIM TALEB, or how not to be a sucker
Taleb taught me to separate the people who talk from the people who take risks. Skin in the game is, I think, the most powerful information filter ever invented. An expert who doesn't pay when he's wrong isn't an expert. He's a commentator.
He also taught me antifragility: some systems don't just survive chaos, they feed on it. A well-built startup is antifragile. A bureaucracy never is. And the Lindy effect: what has survived a long time is likely to keep surviving. That's why I read old books to understand the future.
Taleb is the builder's epistemology. Before you know what to do, you need to know who to listen to.
STEVE JOBS, or taste as the ultimate edge
Jobs said technology alone isn't enough, that it has to be married with the liberal arts and the humanities. For years that sounded like marketing. Today it's the most important thesis of our era.
Because AI is about to commoditize execution. Writing code, editing video, drafting text: all of it is becoming free. What remains is taste. Knowing what is beautiful, what is right, what deserves to exist. Knowing how to say no to a thousand things.
Taste can't be downloaded. It's built by looking, reading, comparing, feeling. Jobs was a product of the humanities as much as of Silicon Valley. We're going to have to go back to them.
ELON MUSK, or physics as the only authority
Musk taught me to reason from first principles. Don't ask "how do others do it," ask "what does physics allow." Everything else is convention, and conventions break.
His five-step algorithm changed how I work: question every requirement, delete, simplify, accelerate, and only at the very end automate. The classic mistake is optimizing or automating something that should never have existed in the first place.
And above all, urgency. Musk operates as if civilization has a deadline. That changes everything: problems stop being fate and become bugs to fix.
Musk is execution pushed to its limit.
NAVAL RAVIKANT, or the grammar of leverage
Naval put simple words on something I only felt vaguely. You don't get rich renting out your time. You get rich by owning leverage.
There's old leverage, which requires permission: capital, employees. And new leverage, which doesn't: code and media. A product that runs while you sleep. A post read by a million people while you're writing code.
AI is the ultimate form of that leverage. It can be a crutch that makes you passive, or an amplifier that multiplies what you already are. The difference is what Naval calls specific knowledge: the thing only you can do, the thing no course can teach you.
Play long-term games with long-term people. Compounding applies to everything: money, knowledge, reputation, relationships.
JORDAN PETERSON, or meaning as fuel
The first four tell you how to win. Peterson tells you why it's worth it.
His message is harsh and liberating: meaning isn't found in comfort, it's found in responsibility. Pick up the heaviest load you can carry. Clean your room before you try to fix the world. Tell the truth, or at least don't lie.
For a founder, this is vital. A startup is years of facing chaos. Without deep meaning, you break. With it, the suffering becomes a price worth paying.
Peterson also reminded me that the great stories aren't fairy tales. They're survival technologies, compressed over millennia.
THE FOUNDATION
Put together, they form a complete stack.
Taleb: who to trust.
Jobs: what to build.
Musk: how to execute it.
Naval: how to scale it.
Peterson: why to keep going.
What they have in common: none of them is a commentator. All of them paid the price for their ideas, in money, reputation, or public exposure. That's exactly why I listen to them.
In a world where AI makes information infinite and free, what gains value is judgment, taste, courage and responsibility.
These five taught me to cultivate all four.
What's your foundation?
They played. They clipped. They earned their spot. π«‘

It is my Great Honor to endorse the Highly Respected Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, an America First Patriot, and someone who has always been extremely loyal to me and our AMAZING MAGA MOVEMENT, who is running for the United States Senate, to represent a place I love and WON, BIG, three times, with 6.4 Million Votes in 2024 (The Most Votes in the History of the State, BY FAR)!
Β
I know Ken well, have seen him tested at the highest and most difficult levels, and he is a WINNER! Ken is a true MAGA Warrior who has ALWAYS delivered for Texas, and will continue to do so in the United States Senate. His opponent, James TalaFREAKO, is a Radical Left Dumocrat who is opposed to NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, and NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY and, if he and the Dumocrats ever got in, all of these things will be terminated. He wants massive Tax Increases, Open Borders, Men playing in Women's Sports, and Transgender Mutilization of your Children. James TalaFREAKO is Reckless, Radical, and Dangerous!
Β
On the other hand, as your next Senator, Ken will tirelessly fight to continue the Great Growth of our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Advance MADE IN THE U.S.A., Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Champion Texas Oil & Gas, Advocate for our Amazing Farmers and Ranchers, Promote School Choice, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Support our Incredible Military/Veterans, Safeguard our Elections, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment.
Β
Ken Paxton has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next United States Senator from the Great State of Texas. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR KEN β HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!

Mark Cuban on Elon being the best entrepreneur of our lifetimes:
"THE BEST ENTREPRENEUR OF OUR LIFETIMES FOR SURE."
"Elon's amazing. He's a brilliant entrepreneur, don't get me wrong."
"He's the best entrepreneur of our lifetimes for sure, but he's a sales guy."
"He has to raise a lot of money for all the things he likes to do, and he's good at that."
Cuban trades shots with Elon on X all the time. He said this anyway, last week.
Even the knock is a compliment. Raising money for rockets, robots and AI at this scale is part of the job, and Elon keeps turning it into Starlink, Starship and Optimus.
When your sparring partner calls you the best of a lifetime, the scoreboard has spoken.
