What an amazing 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭! Held June 13 at the 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝘽����𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝 (SBC) in Olathe KS. SBC was an amazing host!  The event motto - "𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙞𝙩 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 - 𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜"! Grateful for the many volunteers & healthcare partners! @AlisonsAllies honored to work side-by-side with others to support mammograms for underinsured/uninsured women.  𝑬𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝑫𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔! 🔬 DR. PRIYANKA SHARMA’S LAB – We awarded Dr. Sharma’s lab $30,000 from the 2025 funds, bringing the total Alison’s Allies donation to her lab to $57,000. UPDATE: The effect of cancer treatment on ovarian function and fertility is a very important condition for patients with breast cancer. Funding from Alison Allies
supported analysis of blood samples from Dr. Sharma’s investigator-initiated triple negative trials to study short- and long-term impact of chemotherapy & chemoimmunotherapy on ovarian function and reserve in young patients with TNBC. In addition, Alison Allies funding supported publication of work that identified a link between a patient's immune system and how well triple negative breast cancer may respond to radiation treatment. This work was also generated using tissue samples from Dr. Sharma’s triple negative trials. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly aggressive
form of BC.

🔬 DR. KATY SWANCUTT IN DR. DANNY WELCH’S LAB – We awarded $10,000 from the 2025 funds for research on cancer that has spread beyond the breast - metastatic breast cancer (mBC). This brings the total to $38,000 over the past several years. UPDATE: The lab is about to submit our first manuscript reporting the discovery of mitochondria-derived fragments of transfer RNA. We believe
those fragments are responsible for, among other things, regulating breast cancer metastasis. We are also using the data collected using critical seed funding from Alison’s Allies to
grant applications to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and other organizations. Dr. Swancutt presented an update at a conference in San Diego in April.

🔬 DR. JOAN LEWIS-WAMBI’S LAB We awarded $10,500 from the 2025 funds for continued research on Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC),
bringing the total to $33,000 over the past several years. UPDATE: Dr. Lewis-Wambi is happy to report that the funds provided by Alison’s Allies have been helpful as she resubmitted an NIH/R01 application. TNBC is highly
aggressive and more prevalent in African-American/Black women. Dr. Wambi’s research is very promising in
determining why this subgroup of women are more likely to be diagnosed with TNBC. The grant application received an excellent score. Fingers crossed! 🤞

💖 🔎BREAST CANCER SCREENING FOR UNDERSERVED WOMEN: We awarded a $6,600 to support breast cancer screening events for underserved KC women. This represents a $5600 grant from 100 Women Who Care Cedar Creek & $1,000 donation for earning the Gamechanger Award from KC Current & BlueKC! This brings the total to $28,600 over the past several years. UPDATE: Hope Krebill, Exec. Dir. of Masonic Cancer Alliance (MCA), reported that in 2025, the Breast Cancer Health Equity Taskforce partnered with community
organizations to increase BC screening awareness & participation among women of color by hosting Friend to Friend (FTF) events. These events focused on reaching women with a higher risk for breast cancer mortality and those with limited access to health care. These events emphasized the importance of regular mammograms through health care professional presentation and peer conversations facilitated by table hosts. In addition, onsite mammograms were provided at the events. During 2025, 54 women were screened & 268 women attended F2F educational & outreach events. For the first time, a Spanish-speaking event was held at Centro Cristiano Agua Viva. Alison Allies $ & Alison herself have been instrumental in supporting the training of table hosts, obtaining screening materials, funding the events, & providing funds for mammograms for women who are uninsured/underinsured. For the annual 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣'𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧 we’ve had golf carts available to assist walkers. The carts, driven by neighbors Kamiel & Greg Zimmerman, were loaned by neighbors 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦 and 𝘔𝘪𝘬𝘦, but they sold their carts! Yikes!  Never fear, Steve worked with another neighbor 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩 𝙍𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨, owner of 𝐑𝐌𝐈 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞!  Matt is loaning the carts this year! Thank you for your generosity Matt! AND Steve is going to drive one of the carts for the walk!  Have faith & things can work out! Blessed with such wonderful neighbors in 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘝𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘚𝘶𝘣𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯! Today I have the opportunity to present ‘fake checks’ to the recipients of this year’s fundraising efforts!!

Well, once again the goal has been surpassed! QUADRUPLED! Over $60,000! And donations still coming in! I’m touched beyond words by the generosity of the Alison’s Allies supporters! This makes $340,000+ since 2010…small but mighty! #

$30,000: 2025 Project. Goal was $15,000. For Dr. Priyanka Sharma’s Lab researching triple negative breast cancer. TOTAL OVER PAST SEVERAL YEARS=$57,500
$10,000 for Dr. Katy Swancutt in Dr. Danny Welch’s Lab – Research on metastatic breast cancer (mBC). Donation in honor of Camy Stamps Crank & Cindy Martin. TOTAL OVER PAST SEVERAL YEARS= $38,000
$10,500 for Dr. Joan Lewis-Wambi’s Lab - Research on Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) and Black women - TOTAL OVER PAST SEVERAL YEARS=$33,000
$6,600 for KC Breast Cancer Health Equity Task Force facilitated by the Masonic Cancer Alliance; Funds will support BC screening events, including screening materials, event supplies, & mammograms for underserved KC women. This represents a $5600 grant from 100 Women Who Care Cedar Creek and a $1,000 donation for earning the Gamechanger Award from the KC Current & BlueKC! TOTAL OVER PAST SEVERAL YEARS=$28,600
TOTAL given in 2025=$57,100. Remainder seed $ for next yr. & to support needs that arise!
