When will you people stop centralizing critics and publications that obviously seek to push whichever agenda benefits them in the moment? Whether that be positive or negative, that shouldn’t affect your own perception of a piece of media.
The Pitchfork writer who reviewed "TLOAS: The Encore" admitted that they let the media narrative obscure Taylor’s actual music, noting that they initially hated "The Tortured Poets Department" but now consider it one of her best and most interesting records. 🤔
I understand not connecting with her music, but the vitriol people have for olivia dean seems so misplaced but I guess that’s what happens when ppl who want to dislike you have no genuine reason to, so they latch onto anything they can.
The issue is that people want everyone to like what they like or hate what they hate and when that doesn’t occur, they feel like their own opinion becomes invalidated. Y’all are group thinkers.
I’m not sure how you would hold someone accountable for making music you don’t like. I think you all just need to be fine with giving a critique and then moving on.
It’s time you all hold Victoria Monét accountable and stop trying to make fetch happen. She’s a beautiful girl, and super talented. But that talent is behind a PEN, not a MIC! This was the most sleepy, sample heavy, boring body of work I’ve heard in a long time. #FrequencyOfLove
the comparison was a bit tone deaf considering who she used as an example but i think her overall point was just don’t give up on your passion bc you aren’t getting big results at the moment. which is why i don’t understand why someone would use her against tinashe.
Y’all remember when Sabrina cried on her priv and compared herself to Aretha Franklin completely ignoring why a black woman in the 1960’s may have taken a while to break out musically
Nothing about this is accidental. The creation of a devoted racist fandom who views their fave as their aryan savior isn’t new and white artists have benefitted from it for decades. Adela is following in their footsteps.
