@collinsworth55 Most times when you wait for a tooth to be painful it will require a root canal or will need to be extracted. An ounce of prevention is worth far more than a pound of cure. Similar to your fitness pushes. Much easier to stay fit and healthy then recover from morbid obesity

@collinsworth55 But the exam is even moreimportant even if you never have a cavity you should really be getting an exam, where the dentist is also doing an oral cancer screening. Oral cancer can be very aggressive and like all cancer prognosis is much better if caught early

@collinsworth55 It’s not to remove plaque. It’s to remove the calculus. The hard build up. If you are able to properly remove all the plaque daily and prevent it from hardening into calculus, then a cleaning isn’t really necessary but very few brush/floss that well.
