I’ve put nearly 200 hours into ER, primarily because the pacing of the mechanical escalation is damn near perfect until it’s not, suddenly.

“go grind a bunch so you can break even with the experience you *were* having up to this point” is the antithesis of engaging combat design

Across like 4 characters, Elden Ring just loses me entirely after Stormveil Castle.

Margit is a great “I’m gonna come back and whoop him” obstacle to overcome, and Godfrey is a climactic, horrifying Boss, but the difficulty spike that follows fries my interest completely

of aggressive difficulty and a Google driven fetch quest to pump my numbers up so I can meaningfully progress again

it’s so severe it just breaks my immersion completely, every time

I’m 2 episodes in to HBO’s “The Last of Us” and like

clearly there’s a lotta money in this, the practical effects are amazing, the cinematography is gorgeous, but the script feels flat and hollow and I just do not *buy* Pedro Pascal’s Joel

Ep 1 was novel/cool, Ep 2 was… fine.

so far it’s *so close* to the source material, that I’m questioning why I’m even watching it? I’ve played the game like 4 times, there are no surprises so far
