@matt_NJD I’ll tell you that I think he’s overrated from the eye test. His IQ is not high enough to be an elite 1C. He gets by on hard work, great skating, and good finishing. He basically has no idea where to let his wheels take him and then he loses the puck
@OhNyquist 1 year, $10M. Tell Yzerman he only signs a long-term extension the following offseason if he gets him a better supporting cast this offseason (I’m joking but not really joking)
@McCartyDangles The odds of any of the pieces turning into the level of a point per game 1C at the age of 25 is extremely slim. If you can get ahold of a player like that for the cost of 5 question marks, you do it
@WingedWheelPod He’s either going to be a solid 3rd pair guy, or be so bad we have to buy him out which won’t hurt too much with the rising cap. Anything in between he will either be a 7th D or get sent to a team trying to reach the cap floor with decent players
@GrindLinePod I think 1LW makes the most sense for the type of player he is. I do think he’d be a fine 2C, but him and Kane on a line together will get bullied physically. However if we’re looking for a LW, I’d be turning my attention to going all in on Kyle Connor
@Theasianavenger Freaky Tales was a wild movie watching experience. Saw it in the theater on a random weekday with zero background knowledge and that was probably the best way to go into it. Glad to see it crack someone’s list!
@NHL His scoring alone is good enough, but people don’t realize how gritty of a game he can play at both ends of the ice. When the Wings were going through their annual winter slump the last two years he was one of the few giving it his all each night. Unreal shot and nonstop motor
@Sapsterr_ I think that seems accurate regarding what both teams would bring to the table to start. Would be interesting to see which GM would budge and offer more/ask for less. As a Wings, I’d hope Stevie doesn’t let go of our two best u23’s but that’s probably what it would take
@AliciaStella@Naynay3655 Nothing will ever fix the fact that I can see the black floor in front of me at almost every screen, and that’s what takes me out of the moment the most
@NathanGraviteh Grav, you need to swing by the pulled pork mac n cheese stand on the upper level. Quick and delicious. Very underrated compared to the other restaurants in the arena, although you can’t go wrong
@WingedWheelPod Kasper - Larkin - Raymond
DeBrincat - Danielson - Kane
Compher - Copp - Appleton
JVR - Rasmussen - Berggren
I hate Ras at center but I love the 3rd line as a shutdown line. Send Finnie to GR. He has plenty of tools in the toolbox but needs time to put it all together
@LarsThorsell No reason to break up that third line, they looked great against Toronto. Compher looked quite good too, and if he can continue to play like that he should stay. I understand that Nate on that fourth line isn’t ideal, but no reason to fix what isn’t broken
