National HAE Day is May 16th. Our research department got an early start today!! Giveaways, treats and raising awareness. I love our office family. #HAE#HAEA#Raredisease
Thank you @AllergyKidsDoc. Our office saw this and taking a deeper dive raises more questions than gives answers. Though working with an allergist who looks to find the triggers and strive for allergen avoidance,limit/avoid oral/IV steroids is the right path for the asthmatic.
Another scary headline - need to break down the study.
-Looked at brain MRIs in adults (60's)
-Compared those using oral/IV or inhaled steroids at time vs controls
-Differences in white matter observed; greater for oral/IV
-Causation could not be assessed

If you think allergists only push drugs to help our patients who suffer from environmental allergies, you are mistaken.
There are many natural interventions that can make people feel better...equally important to know which ones don't hold up as well

To all 4th year medical students finding out where you’ll be going for residency today:
Please take a moment to appreciate all you have accomplished. You’ve worked so hard & this is a pivotal moment in your journey.
Enjoy the moment…celebrate! 🎉

I’m an anesthesiologist. And a dad. And I can assure you in both capacities that your child will be far more comfortable if they’re in a face mask, than on a ventilator.
If you’re making a choice on behalf of a child, please choose based on their comfort, vs yours.

@AllergyKidsDoc Merry Christmas. Enjoy your family. You deserve it. Thank you for all the valuable information and guidance throughout the year. Great meeting also.
Food IgG tests are rampant...often peddled as a way to find that 'hidden cause' of any myriad of symptoms.
There's one problem: They don't actually do what they're promised to do.
Major professional organizations recommend avoiding them & here's why: https://t.co/zfubLIRHsX
Facemasks will not cause harm for VAST majority of asthmatics.
Very important to realize #asthma is highly variable in severity, level of control & management.
Some are recommending #essentialoils inside of masks-Please DON'T, that CAN trigger symptoms!

I borrowed this from one of my nurses. I have always hated racism and felt I did a good job understanding and living that message but reading this tells me I can still do better. #BlackLivesMatter
