@DaveWil33 @JeremyECrawford @Wizards_DnD Gotcha. It does seem to make several spells useless... making a distracting noise only with your line of effect within 30’ is not quite a distraction...lol. But there are quite a few of these spell situations that don’t make much practical sense. Thanks again!

@DaveWil33 @JeremyECrawford @Wizards_DnD Yes, I get that. It just seems that since Jeremy had said in a previous tweet Minor Illusion can create sounds from around a corner despite the line of effect rules, there was room for this here. Plus psychic damage... no bolts or cones. Thanks though!

@DaveWil33 @JeremyECrawford @Wizards_DnD Thank you for your answer. My thought was the spell says that one creature of my choice within range. Deafened creatures automatically succeed on the save, so they still are affected. If they can hear a persuasion check, shouldn’t they hear they spell?
