CA & US: DO NOT underestimate your abilities in writing. @AllianceLabor in NV, is proposing leg for #Independentcontractors & #freelancers . You too can write legislation https://t.co/yXXMK1ljuH Rainy Day Vol Savings. Leave no stone unturned #RepealAB5#NoPro
During #AB5, ride share drivers were misrepresented by astroturfing groups. Union members posed as Uber protestors.
Now with #PROAct, Freelance groups/unions are popping up— affiliated with some of the same people.
& also associated w drafting the legislation.

@pianomanesq1111 The PRO Act does not WIDLEY CONSIDER IC’s to be employees?
Yes it does, for the purposes of the Act.
I pointed to AB5 to show how many people don’t pass the test and why this test sucks... and is set up to fail.
I think you read something here that I didn’t say. Read it again.
@veenadubal The old ABC test was less strict. You get credit for the one that cost the livelihoods of tens of thousands of Californians. Now scurry off and block me because you can’t handle dissent or truth.
@michelechollow @BusinessInsider This article doesn’t consider the fines, section 7 “unfair labor practice” strikes and inability to fire or replace those ABC employees, nor the gerrymandering & joint employer rules. It’s sanitized.
@thelorereport They don’t understand gerrymandering rules, impacts of ABC as a striking merit: protected, concerted section 7 activity. & then ending contract would be 100k fine.
Nobody will work with contractors w those rules of the game.
@tracywritestoo@Sen_JoeManchin@MarkWarner @SenatorSinema @SenAngusKing@SenMarkKelly@ocregister I appreciate the opposition but I think you have underestimated the impacts which reach beyond “collective bargaining” and into 50-100k fines and right to strike on ABC grounds, thus forcing employment. Independent businesses can’t collectively bargain: antitrust.
@avogato14 @etammykim No, @NYTimes is gonna cancel her contract the first time their council lays eyes on the bill for fear she’s gonna shake them down for 100k plus. She might as well just file a wage claim instead of displacing Americans “for their own good”. But maybe none of them #readthebill yet.
@ZakAtta66819247 Okay, I know this is going to be a hard concept for you... but I’m talking about a “collective” action among, perhaps 5 ABC employees. FYI- Multiplication is like addition, but in multiples. IC’s ability to strike on unfair labor grounds +50k fines will prevent their hiring.
@rodrigosz@marwilliamson No. I can tell you also didn’t read the bill, though.
Harmed in the way that individuals will be prevented from accessing the private sector through the threat of 50-100k “unfair labor practice” fines & sec 7 concerted activities applying to strikes on ABC grounds.
