@jehanhillen@bjmlong I was there a few weeks ago on an excavation with the Ministry of Culture and received access. Here are a few photos! I am guessing the area is closed for eventual restoration work? I think they said it used to be open to the public.
Medieval highlights from the Ohrid Museum:
1 - sarcophagus lid from the Church of the Virgin Mary Peribleptos (originally painted), c. 1295 or later
2 - pectoral crosses, 10th-12th c.
3 - sgraffito ceramics, 10th-15th c.
4 - liturgical dishes & 2 brooches, 10th-15th c.
@jehanhillen We had a special tour, but it seemed open to the public? I know at least one room (the “treasure room,” with some golden objects) is still closed for renovations though.
PhD candidate Allison Grenda has been named the 2025 AIA Olivia James Traveling Fellow! Allison’s research investigates how Byzantine communities across the Eastern Mediterranean responded to urban destruction from the 4th–15th centuries C.E. Learn more: https://t.co/GpCUC54LqS

Sharing this CFP for @KzooICMS 2025 on behalf of a couple colleagues. Looks like a very interesting topic, and a nice complement to our panel on Epiros earlier this year!
Feel free to share, and please reach out to Dan or Massimiliano with any questions. https://t.co/SXjPC7kzc8
