Betty Hope Plantation received an influx of human cargo & livestock fr Barbuda. Industries were slave breeding & farming. Many atrocities occurred during colonialism. The enslaved would escape their respective plantations in Antigua & come to Devils Bridge to commit suicide.

.@CBP .@NY1 .@fox5ny .@ABC7NY I was with Customs for 30 mins. They kept encouraging me to leave. Some of the agents laughed at me. Not once did anyone stop or question a White person. You people are disgusting!! Racist bastards! I will always call you out on the B.S. (6/6)

.@CBP .@NY1 .@fox5ny .@ABC7NY I asked for Carlos’s name prior to leaving. Gulu claims to not know it, but he is the supervisor. You claim to want to help but aren’t being cooperative. This is a classic example on why law enforcement will never be respected. Another racist! (5/6)

.@CBP .@NY1 .@fox5ny .@ABC7NY The supervisor was useless, Gulu. He gave me a few forms to fill out and said what am I supposed to do? I said teach your staff sensitivity training. Then, look in your job description and figure it out. (4/6)

.@CBP .@NY1 .@fox5ny .@ABC7NY I questioned Vergara about and asked what he was looking for. He claimed to stop White people & was performing standard procedures. I said you stopped me because I’ve locs and my skin is black. You assumed I’m a criminal because you’re racist. (2/6)

.@CBP .@NY1 .@fox5ny .@ABC7NY I arrived at JFK today from Antigua & Barbuda to visit family. I was stopped by Carlos Vergara. I noticed the custom agents were only stopping Black people. Is this a policy to target Black people? (1/6)
