CREATIVITY comes out when students are loved, well-prepared, confident, and challenged. See a fun update from Doctora Puig about her Spanish class writing awards this week.
Today is a very wet, chilly day. Students bravely played outdoors for recess, but that cold damp can still seem dreary and oppressive.
Mrs. M responded in a genius way by casting a fireplace video for Writers' Workshop today for her middle school students.
Instant cozy!
Today is World Kindness Day. Our students drew names at Community Time to surprise a fellow student with a random act of kindness. <3 Jesus tells us to "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31). Let us all strive to create a kinder world. #worldkindnessday#loveyourneighbor

Between covid stress and an abundance of screen time, children need outdoor time more than ever to decompress. Gardening is a great way to engage with nature and lower stress, and it's one of our regular Friday electives. Always popular! #outdoors#privateschools#thewoodlandstx
To our Veterans near and far: we humbly thank you for your service, for your dedication, for your countless sacrifices. We honor you this day and pray especially for all those who have been wounded in their service, whether those wounds are visible or not. #veteransday
More pics from the middle school trip Friday to help our friends at Abundant Harvest Kitchen with meal prep. In addition to delivering meals to food-insecure families in our community, they also offer to-go meals for purchase! #servicelearning#fighthunger#loveyourneighbor

Today was the 3rd annual Fall Fest! Shout out to Mrs. Welty for organizing with Student Council, and Perla A. for cotton candy! Costumes, outdoor contests, relays, an escape room, even buckets of pumpkin carving treats to take home! Everyone from PK through 8th had a great time.
The answer is...86 minutes average time outside every day! But that is not including extra time spend by language arts reading time, science observations, etc. that go beyond those hours. <3
Despite some stormy moments this past week, the students got plenty of outdoor time. Unstructured play and social time are so crucial to their well-being.
Can you guess how many average daily minutes our students get outside during their school day? Post your best guess!
