🚨 SPONSOR ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
Bringing in the weekend with a new #10in10challenge sponsor! Absolutely delighted to be supported by the brilliant @AP_Literacy.
Alison was a friend and colleague of my Mum’s, and I’m so thankful for her generous support.
Two days to go until the final of everyone’s second favourite World Test Championship, which of these bowlers are you most excited to see in action at the Rose Bowl?
Following this statement from @joe_wozza, he will no longer be working with the All Star World Test Championship team.
We thank Joe for his input over the past 18 months.
Brilliant innings from Kohli. This, along with his terrible form in Test cricket of late, is further evidence it’s time to ease him out of the Test side and let him concentrate on white ball cricket.
The #ASWTC came to a thrilling climax in the final test. Just 15 runs separated the sides after their first innings. The Subs were able to set KKR a target of 240. Qasim’s 6-39 ripped through KKR and he finished things off with a hattrick to give the Subs the title. MOTM: Akram
KKR gained an early advantage of the Subcontinentals in the 1st Test of the #ASWTC final. Pollock helped roll the Subs for 216 and 158, taking 5 in each innings. Azharuddin’s ton gave KKR a commanding 1st innings lead and they chased 59 for the loss of 1 wicket. MOTM: Pollock
KKR secured a narrow victory in the 4th test to tie the Final at 2-2 heading into the #ASWTC decider. In a match dominated by bowlers, Pollock and Holding were the difference for KKR with 8 & 7 wickets respectively, giving KKR a 62 run win. MOTM: Pollock
Tomorrow sees the start of the final of our 1980-1999 All Star World Test Championship! Senny’s Subcontinentals take on Krakow Knight Riders in a 5 Test series, with one test each day this coming week. Who are you backing? #ASWTC
The Subs healed further misery on EH, Chappell’s 187* more than the entire EH XI combined. An innings defeat was narrowly avoided thanks to Kambli’s ton, but a 9 wicket win wrapped up a 3-0 series win for the Subs, who will face KKR in the final. MOTM: Chappell
The Subcontinentals thumped Elite Honesty in the 1st rest of their semi final. Slater and Inzamam led them to 477 before EH collapsed to 148 all out, only 2 men passing 10. Jones made sure the Subs had to bat again but they coasted home by 10 wickets. MOTM: Akram
Langer and Tendulkar gave EH an almost 200 run lead after the first innings. Subs made 346, setting EH 163. Qasim took 5-43 as EH’s woeful chase finished at 132, giving the Subs an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. MOTM: Marshall
KKR took a 42 run first innings lead, and stretched that to 402 thanks to Boycott’s 147. Chasing 403, the Helmets could only manage 226, giving KKR the win and a place in the #ASWTC final! MOTM: Boycott
In the first semi final, there was no separating the Helmets and KKR. Kallis’ double ton gave HH an advantage, but Abbas got KKR past the follow on. KKR were set 445 to win, and tons from Anwar and Boycoff took them close before a draw was reached. MOTM: Boycott
In the final test of the semi final, only 6 runs separated the sides after the 1st innings. KKR only set HH 264, which proved to be enough as they collapsed for 151. This left the semi final at 1-1, meaning an additional test was added to determine a winner. MOTM: Abbas
