🚨NEWS: Tesla will build Terafab in Grimes County, Texas, with the goal of creating the largest chip factory in history and producing more than 1 terawatt of computing power per year. 🔥
Betting on a facility of this scale shows that Tesla no longer wants to depend on the global chip supply and prefers to fully control one of the most critical pieces of its future.

Terafab will be built in Grimes County, Texas
In April, we broke ground on our research fab on the North Campus of Giga Texas – the precursor to Terafab.
Both Tesla & SpaceX will need far more chips than current & future global production can supply.
This is why we're building the largest chip manufacturing facility ever, with the goal of producing over 1 terawatt of compute per year
The future is built in Texas

GOOD NEWS 🎨 Tesla has officially been granted a design patent (US D1,138,869 S) covering the distinctive exterior body of its Robovan concept.
Filed back in October 2024 and officially issued on August 4, 2026, the filing credits Tesla Chief Designer @woodhaus2 and his team (Julien Bilodeau, Ian Kettle, and Joseph Robinson) with shaping the vehicle's unique look.
A closer look at the patent illustrations reveals several striking design choices that shape Tesla’s futuristic mass-transit vision:
🚌 Mobile architectural volume: Rather than following conventional van proportions, the Robovan resembles an autonomous tram or a moving lounge. The exterior reads as a single, uninterrupted capsule optimized for passenger comfort.
🚂 Art Deco streamliner influence: With rounded corners, sweeping horizontal bands, and fully enclosed wheels, the aesthetic pulls heavily from Art Deco streamliner trains and buses—reinterpreted through a minimalist science-fiction lens.
🤖 Symmetrical, "faceless" profile: There is no conventional grille, hood, side mirrors, or driver cockpit. The distinction between the front and rear ends is so subtly muted that the vehicle visually communicates full autonomy at first glance.
🛸 Hovercraft silhouette: By concealing the wheels and undercarriage deep within the lower body panels, the vehicle visually hovers above the road rather than resting on four exposed tires.
🕶️ Wraparound glass envelope: A dark, continuous glass beltway wraps around the upper cabin. The curved termination points break up the sheer mass of the vehicle, making the high-capacity volume look surprisingly sleek.
💡 Horizontal stratification: Multiple parallel strakes run along the waist and lower sill. While patent line art doesn't specify materials, these bands are ideal locations for production lighting strips, signal indicators, or aerodynamic trim.
📦 Space-maximized packaging: Near-vertical front and rear end caps combined with full-width, full-height cabin walls maximize every square inch of usable interior space—making it equally suited for high-density ride-pooling or autonomous cargo logistics.
⚡ A distinct design language: Unlike the sharp, planar, stainless-steel geometry of the Cybertruck, the Robovan relies entirely on soft radii and continuous curvature, carving out a distinct "retro-futuristic public transit" aesthetic within Tesla's portfolio.
Beyond the aesthetic novelty, this filing confirms that Tesla is actively locking down the intellectual property for its high-capacity autonomous fleet.
The Model Y has been named the best luxury electric vehicle of 2026 by the ABP Live Auto Awards in India. 🏆
Receiving this recognition in a market as competitive and fast-growing as India’s reinforces the perception of the Model Y as a benchmark for electric luxury, beyond its sales volume. 🔥
Awards like these will help boost Tesla’s sales in India. 🇮🇳

Tesla has completed 195,000 km of fully autonomous supervised driving in France, of which more than 60% were carried out on urban and rural roads, without any notable incidents. 🇫🇷
Accumulating so many kilometers in real and varied environments, especially in cities and rural areas, lends greater weight to the maturity of the system in Europe and may accelerate the confidence of regulators and users.🔥
