The bus left Onitsha just after 10pm.

It was one of those old night buses people take because they're cheaper. No air conditioning, and half the seats didn't recline. The driver had gospel music playing quietly through a crackling speaker.

Most people were asleep within an hour.

A woman with two children sat in front of me. An old man was praying with a rosary near the back. Everything felt normal. Then, around midnight, the bus broke down. Right in the middle of nowhere. There were no houses in sigh,no streetlights. Just a narrow road cutting through thick bush.

The UK has mosquitoes but barely any malaria. Any person here with malaria would have gotten it from abroad.

Although most UK mosquitoes do bite, the climate is too cold and inconsistent for malaria parasites to survive and spread properly.

Also, there just aren’t massive swarms like in tropical countries because the UK has fewer hot, humid breeding conditions and a shorter mosquito season overall.

One thing I've noticed about the mosquitoes here, though, is how the size of some of them. Very big.

I will never judge anyone for whatever decision they make when faced with a severe disability diagnosis.

Not the person who chooses to continue the pregnancy.
Not the person who chooses to terminate it. None of those decisions are easy.

My Instagram explore page is always showing me children living with severe disabilities. Some cannot walk, talk, eat on their own, and some cannot even breathe without assistance.
And every time I watch those videos, my heart goes out to the parents, especially the mothers.
Waking up every day to care for a child who may never gain independence.
Those women are warriors.
