@DefenseMinister If this were the case, Pinto would be the piece to move. Given his shutdown role, I feel it’s easier to replace that, rather than have a hole at 2C. Slide greig to the 3C role or have G play there this year, but with Greig and Halliday, lots of center depth to replicate that role

@red__onions His direct comparables will be Alex Tuch and Adrian Kempe. Given those two signed prior to this, I expect Batherson will be in the 10.5-11.5M range. Especially with the cap jumping up. If he hits UFA he’s getting 12M+. I expect somewhere around 10.8M x 7.

@EverydaySens I think that’s fair, but it assumes the competition stays the same. Most teams we’re battling with for a playoff spot improved this summer too. The Sens might be better, but so should the teams around us. The benchmark isn’t last year’s standings—it’s this year’s competition.

@VictoriaEgreen The caveat that always seems to be forgotten, and players don’t really seem to care is Canadian players living in Canada making USD. The exchange from USD to CAD is quite significant and should be seen as an advantage for Canadian teams but it isn’t unfortunately.

@KadriSens Sens need to be patient with Beckman. Goalies as we all know take longer. There is no sense in rushing him, let him develop in the AHL. Look what happened when the Sabres thought Levi could make the jump from college to the NHL. His development path got fast tracked and hurt him

@brandonpiller1 I like him as a Sen. However, I’ve recently experimented with roster turnover and think he could be a great trade asset. Perhaps trading him + a pick for a top 6?

Then you attack free agency and try for Connor Murphy? 2-3 year deal. Play him alongside Chabot until yak’s ready.
