Are we not going to mention any of the pro business vs consumer decisions that were made before biden, hell before trumps first term?
An overwhelming majority of gamers buy digital vs physical these days. Trend has been going up since xbox 360 dude. I haven't bought a physical in almost 9 years
Not really? This has been a trend since the xbox 360 man. And most consumers dont buy physical anyway, most buy digitally. Its not even just disc prices. Its shipping its shelving its taxing. List goes on.
Granted the protections on this are severely lacking. Stop killing video games should be a priority. And the ps6 was in development more than likely without a disc drive way before the trump administration. They more than likely made the decision seeing the trend anyway.
I myself havent bought a physical for over 8 years, almost 9.
It doesn't matter where you stand politically. It doesn't even matter whether he referred to the U.S. president or not here.
This right here is such an absurd detachment from reality and understanding of data and consumer trends laid out quite openly by a company. It almost smells like yet more corpo defense from Max Dood.
Sony was very clear. They abandoned discs because they saw a consumer trend they wanted to follow, because their media strategy is already going digital for years. Nobody even suggested economic factors or difficulty with disc production. There is in fact no significant structural issue with disc production in terms of materials or machinery. It's not even comparable to the challenges faced by producers and buyers of memory components and semiconductors necessary for higher-end chips. Products, btw, that have actual geopolitical issues attached to their market that go even beyond the U.S.. As sad as it is for me, as a physical game consumer, the trend is globally leaning towards adopting digitalized products because of the ease of access and how fast and easy it is to use digital platforms to acquire said products.
Sony is the one and only party here to blame for their abandonment of physical games. No one else. We got here because consumers have increasingly favored digital in PlayStation platforms, around the globe, mind you. It has zero to do with politics in the U.S..
Maximillian Dood has already given absolutely horrendous mischaracterizations of other topics in the gaming space before. This is yet another instance. Such an immature behavior, denying basic reality to affirm his own political bias, regardless if said bias is good or not for you, me, or anyone else. People should have all the more reason to be weary about what he says regarding his favorite companies, considering how far he goes to twist reality to defend them from criticism.
Im going to agree. Tarrifs had an impact but largely more people are buying digitally over discs across the board. I alone havent bought a physical since I was 16. 8-9 years ago. Most people dont buy physicals now.
This has been a thing since xbox 360 and the ps6 has been in development way before tarrifs
@WoodyWooiuup@engaimaki@kczaban_ Im aware of new sun. ive read through the comics. That shit was the 2nd worst take on an evil gambit. Shit was so lame. Biggest ass pull. (I refuse to talk about apocalypse gambit from 2004 bendis run
@WoodyWooiuup@engaimaki@kczaban_ I mean.... again compared to ROGUE, yeah he's a light weight. She can rip a space ship in half. Hes an acrobat thief that makes cards explode.
@WoodyWooiuup@engaimaki@kczaban_ I think its more a play on him being the lightweight in the relationship lmao. Gambit is strong, no slouch, but rogue is kinda ms marvel lite (not kamala khan bleck). So it is funny to see him in her arms like a princess 😂
@ShaiheimN Hard disagree. If they refreshed and brought in new artists and writers with an emphasis on allowing more fan content id fucking buy so many comics.... and im caught up in current comics
@NYtellem Spike was a half assed marrow with a half assed character arc. Once he went morlock the show forgot about him. I like spike but he really fell through. At least marrow had a complete arc.
