The concept of paying actual money to the government for a designated protest site so you can make your frustrations known about said government in a calm and peaceful manner. Living every day in this country is a satire skit
@mssakshinarula I have not defended the CJP. Read my post again if that is what you got out of it. I merely opposed the take that they are responsible for the violence the protestors faced. The movement is bigger than the CJP and everyone should shoulder the responsibility of fighting fascism.
So many such bs takes. The blame for the violence that the protestors faced lies solely with the government and the Delhi police, not CJP. Just becoz the CJP gave the protest call days earlier, does it justify the violent suppression tactics employed by the government?
Like I said on one of the spaces today, what CJP did was not harmless. They gave a protest call 10 days in advance which gave the government time to prepare. The govt called the forces, the hindu extremist groups, goons in uniforms and turned the entire city into a fortress.
They are the reason so many girls had to face violent and sexual harrasment from the police and goons. People were beaten. They didn't have anyone on the ground to help protestors who showed up when they are the ones who called them. IYC was helping people with injuries and lawyers.
So no they don't get a free pass this time even though I have refrained from posting their tweets. Dipke doesn't get to say, it doesn't matter. Everything matters. Even their bland tweets on today's protest on social media and zero presence on the ground..matters. Their intentions were questionable from day one and it became more evident today that they are playing for the other team. All civil society/student groups joined Rahul today because everyone wants Gyanesh gone. Forget Rahul, Rahul doesn't need the likes of CJP or AAP to draw crowds but if the goal is same, showing solidarity takes absolutely nothing. Forget that, they didn't stand even with the other protestors today.
I'm not a fan of how the Dipke and the others have handled everything without any planning. I certainly think they should take lessons from Neha, but that doesn't take away the fact that they started a movement which has grown this big. Now it's upto the people to carry it.
I'm seeing so many blue ticks post long essays on how the Congress played a better political game than CJP yesterday and how the CJP let the people down on the 10th. Let's not dilute the movement and shift the blame away from the government where it solely belongs.
The CJP is a movement, not a political party. Why wasn't the Congressleading the protest on the 10th in the absence of the CJP? They didn't, because they didn't want to be seen as participating in someone else's protest. They wanted their own moment which they got yesterday.
TVK having a coalition with Congress to form the government but siding with the fascists in the center ideologically. Sad to see the current state of TN
The BJP government is indiscriminately extending its long arm, detaining civilians before they even reach the protest site, cutting off communications, closing metros and trains to stop the protests from happening.
This is not regulation.
This is an undeclared emergency!
Peaceful protest is a fundamental right of the citizens in a democracy.
The state can regulate a protest and impose reasonable restrictions but it CANNOT ban it entirely.

"I'm so entitled that I can't take even the slightest inconvenience. Why should I change the system that has given me such a privileged life? Why should I care if crores of Indians have lost their fundamental right to vote as long as it doesn't affect me?"
#WATCH | A passenger who was onboard the flight on which Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Founder Abhijeet Dipke was travelling to Delhi says, "We were travelling from Mumbai. We had to wait even after the flight landed. After the flight landed, we could hear sloganeering of 'Inquilab Zindabad' from the front of the aircraft. I don't know who Dipke is. They must be 'Cockroach' who must be behaving like this; I don't know much...They were on a protest for 36 days earlier. But will they create inconvenience everywhere? Public is inconvenienced due to a few people like this. If the names of people have been wrongfully deleted, Supreme Court will look into it. They (protesters) are not going to look into it. Shut down Courts if public will do everything. There is a system which we follow, shut down that system. If there is a problem, we will protest - will that help?"
