We’re back with the "What's up at Limited Run Games this time?" feature. The company has released new images of the updated figurine from the "Sonic Racing CrossWorlds" Collector’s Edition. As a reminder, the publisher previously postponed the release until December 2026 after the quality of the statue included in the set was deemed unsatisfactory.

The first two images show one of the recent prototypes. However, flaws were found in this version as well. The outline of the game’s logo was bigger than the logo itself, and Sonic’s car's shade of blue was too deep. As a result, Limited Run Games commissioned further revisions, and the last two images show the corrected versions.

The work is still going. The company is striving to bring the quality up to the highest possible standard in time for the winter release. In particular, the final version must undergo SEGA's review and quality control.

It is MUCH MORE possible that this is Vali, as they are shown to wield a Keyblade in the new Kingdom Hearts 4 Trailer, and the mask, hair, and eye color all much Vali

Vali is a character from Kingdom Hearts Dark Road who was part of Xehanort's Upper Classmen who was brutally killed by Baldr in the events of the game.

As it turns out, just like other characters, Death is just a new beginning in Quadratum

@0408mark58 Definitely a symbolism for rebirth, considering Quadratum is described as an afterlife, or world after death, for characters from the Kingdom Hearts side of the universe.

The slower sense of speed might be due to the camera settings being set to “looks playable to normies”. Remember that most of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds was promoted with slower speed modes and with the dynamic camera turned off just to appeal to the general audience.

Any AI assets are used only as placeholders that are being replaced with manually created materials, says the Crazy Taxi: World Tour lead, Kenji Kanno, to Kotaku.

“We used it as a reference, so our artists would pull up [and] generate some of their ideas, and then they would look at that, you know, generated image, and then they would draw the actual thing. So actual creators, everything from programming to assets, everything is made by an actual human. It’s only used as a reference for them to look at, and then they would actually create the actual thing that would go into the game.”

SEGA is far from the first company to use AI for such purposes. While such publishers often face initial criticism, it seems that the tool is becoming the industry’s norm.
