After an unexpectedly cooler day yesterday heat indexes are off into the mid-upper 90s in many spots across Middle GA today. Isolated showers and storms will remain possible this evening with more likely this weekend. Be smart outside this weekend as the heat gets worse! #gawx

As temperatures rise heading into July there's some important things to remember! If you are going to be outside hydration and breaks in the shade are a necessity! The high humidity makes it difficult for our bodies to sweat properly and thus makes it harder to cool off! #gawx

The storm moving towards Peach County is weakening overall (it was in that cluster near Columbus) but is still packing some strong winds with gusts that could be over 60 mph. Small hail is also possible with this storm. #gawx
