Master of the Possimpible. Ultra nerd. Lover of Power Rangers, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, TMNT, the MCU, DC & Marvel Comics. Big Nightwing & Captain America fan
After seeing Masters of the Universe last night all I can think about is how I now want Travis Knight to direct a Power Rangers or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
I really hate the time in between my hyper fixations. I feel so aimless just reading and watching random things until something hits. I feel like Goldilocks trying to find the thing that is just right.
I just finished watching all of The Mentalist. I’ve been binging it for the last month and a half. I watched the first 3 or 4 seasons as they were originally airing, but for some reason I stopped. This was my first time seeing it all the way through. I quite enjoyed it.
Looking at this, I think it says a lot about where I was in life during each of these periods. During the Donatello era, I was a nerdy kid who related to him. During the Leonardo era, I was growing up and taking on more leadership roles. Now with Mikey, I just want to enjoy life.
I was thinking about how my favorite Ninja Turtle has changed over the years.
1990-2011ish - Donatello
2012ish-2023 - Leonardo
2023-present - Michelangelo
I love all the turtles though. And Splinter was, is, and will likely always be my favorite TMNT character overall.
It’s crazy how little things have changed in 20 years. This is my first time watching it all the way through. About 13 years ago I started it but didn’t finish. Now that I am done it I have the problem I usually have upon finishing a series - I don’t know what to do with my life.
Tonight I finished up watching all of The West Wing. I’ve been working my way through it for the past few months. I wish our actual president behaved like he did in the show. It’s also depressing how the issues they faced in the show are mostly the same as those faced today.
I went a month without eating any pizza. Then over the last week and a half I’ve had pizza from Bilbo’s (local place), Bimbo’s (another local place & yes it’s different from Bilbo’s), Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Little Caesars (twice), and Hungry Howie’s. I fell off the wagon. Hard.
The first issue of the Waid and Samnee Black Widow run has to be one of my top 5 favorite single issues. Natasha escaping from the Helicarrier is just wonderful.
I also saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), Revenge of the Sith, the Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy, and Toy Story in theaters. I love all those movies. I’m not ranking them among the new releases though since they were rereleases.
Of the 22 new movies I saw in theaters in 2025 my favorite was definitely Ballerina. I love the John Wick movies & this was no exception. Superman would be a close 2nd. James Gunn really knocked it out of the park. The worst movie I saw was easily Honey Don’t!. I truly hated it.
Ranking movies released in 2025 I saw in theaters.

Just finished the Len Kaminski run on Iron Man from the early/mid 90s. It was my first time reading it. I really loved it. I wish he had been able to stay on the book longer.
I realized halfway through the movie that I don’t like a good share of the characters. And while I do like Jake Sully, I was sick of the conflict with him and Lo’ak. Also, no offense to Sigourney Weaver, but having her play/voice a teenage is just super distracting to me.
I saw Avatar: Fire and Ash yesterday. Just like the previous films, this one had parts I really enjoyed and also parts that bored the shit out of me. The action set pieces were what I most enjoyed. Though, I think Cameron gets too self indulgent in the “spectacle” at times.
I feel like a good 45 minutes to an hour could’ve been cut out of Fire and Ash and it would have made it a lot more enjoyable. Also, maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the third act was incredibly similar to the third act of the Way of Water.
