Greg Medina, 48, is a white chef who spends his days cooking meals for the homeless through Lutheran Social Services in San Bernardino.

He is also the sole provider for his 12-year-old daughter. After a long week he sat in the jacuzzi at his apartment complex, listening to a class through earbuds, minding his own business.

Surveillance video shows two black males walking up behind him. One delivered a hard kick to the back of Medina’s head with full force. They stole his phone and ran.

The attack was completely unprovoked. Medina went to the ER with a concussion but could only afford one day off work before returning, still dealing with the effects.

Police have not announced any arrests. Medina said the blow could have knocked him unconscious and left him drowning.

A white man who serves the vulnerable was targeted in a random attack by two black males, and so far no one has been held accountable and the media is largely silent.

Let's fix that.

Mark Ruffalo just crossed a line.

In an Instagram post today attacking the Paramount merger, he dragged in Larry Ellison, Oracle, and Israel, throwing around words like “genocide” and “apartheid” in a business dispute. Paramount was right to call it what it was: antisemitic tropes dressed up as industry concern. You can oppose a merger on antitrust or jobs grounds. You do not get to smear Jewish executives and Israeli ties as the real problem.

Ruffalo claims this deal will devastate the film industry. That is not the biggest threat. The real threat is California’s crushing taxes, endless regulations, and hostile business climate already pushing productions and companies to look elsewhere. If Paramount eventually decides it has had enough and leaves, the damage will be far worse than any single merger.

Actors who claim to care about the industry should start by confronting the policies making it harder to work in California — not by recycling ugly tropes against the people trying to keep studios alive.
