As of June 21, 2026, the iPhone 17 lineup has sold an estimated 35.39 million units in China.
Estimated sales by model:
• iPhone 17 Pro Max: ~12.69 million units
• iPhone 17: ~11.83 million units
• iPhone 17 Pro: ~10.87 million units
Meanwhile, the combined sales of all major Android Ultra models stand at only 776,500 units.
In other words, the iPhone 17 Pro Max alone has outsold every major Android Ultra phone combined.
That may explain why more and more brands are rethinking the Ultra strategy. An Ultra phone can showcase the very best engineering a company has to offer, but the market continues to show that more aggressive hardware doesn't necessarily translate into higher sales.
