DeForest Buckner is (understandably) done.
Asked for reaction to the Colts’ third straight loss, he said, “I don’t know. How ‘bout you guess. I’m frustrated.”
We’ve seen Allen and Mahomes (who are generational talents) have issues when their weapons are out.
49ers went into a road game on a short week with Watkins and Cooks (who was on his couch 3 weeks ago) at WR.
What did people expect? A lot of season left.
Joe Torre used to talk about “turn the page” games. Sometimes, whether it’s injuries, an off day, etc. it’s just not your day.
Kinda felt this was a “punt” or “turn the page” game for the 49ers.
As long as Evans, Bosa, etc. will get healthy after the bye, 49ers will be okay.
Okay…short week, 6-0, on the road, decimated by injuries and the bye week coming up. Kinda figured this would be a “punt game” for the 49ers.
Doesn’t make it any less frustrating but have a couple weeks to get healthy and ready for the second half at 6-1.
@JL_Chapman I hear ya, and you know I’m the last person to make excuses for the team, but these are the back up RBs and they’re playing with the back ups to the back ups at WR. This felt like a game you kind of punt & live to play another day but Niners still can steal this one.
@CoachDeg I agree with that 100%. Never want to punt on a game but it’s not the end of the world if they lose this week and then you come back after the bye and start to get some guys back for the second half.
For the most part, this 49ers regime has done very well with in-season trades whether it’s been a big name (Sanders, CMC) or someone like White or Charles Omenihu.
Even if it’s a lesser known addition still have to be confident it’ll be a solid move.
John Lynch says the team is looking for a trade like they made for Keion White. A player who can come right in with untapped potential and be a scheme fit. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a big move.
John also says he has to wait out teams who still believe they’re in the playoff race and used the NFC East as an example. Dog shit teams (he didn’t say that), but since the division isn’t good, they all think they’re still in it and won’t make a trade yet.
