But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated. Here is an undefeatable man blooded in #COYS#soccer#tactics @NBA @F1 & #EmergingTech
Thank you @Walid_4!
I do love this series to review & analyze amazing tactical contests by master coaches in these classic @ChampionsLeague battles!
Highly recommend!
@enyacollins@JimOhSoSpurs Before those injured attackers — Kudus, Xavi Simons, Kulusevski & Odobert return, Spurs do need more wingers
Yet once everyone’s fit, that area will be seriously crowded
If Bahoya or another winger comes in, Tel may have to transform from inside forward to #9 — well, or be sold
@Kish_P14 De Zerbi used 3 CB at Marseille, wide guess, when midfield market is pricey, maybe RDZ is planning to replicate the same next season
van de Ven / Senesi
van Hecke / Vušković
Ordóñez / Danso
It would give Spurs a great mix of experience & upside with technique & athleticism
@josh_wiggan@yiddogusdos Completely a joke to call a player bad when he came on in 62nd minute & scored in the 82nd — saying he made the team struggle to that tight 1-0 win is just blind hate shit talk
🚨Jose Mourinho: "If you want to press high and your FORWARDS don't press, you CAN'T.
If you want to drop your block closer to your goal and your FORWARDS don't drop, you don't have a BLOCK.
Without forwards who WORK well defensively, you don't defend WELL."
"If AI can help you cheat on a task ... it means you're doing a task that humans might not be doing in 2 to 3 years. So the cheating is a signal the whole system is screwed up. Don't blame the cheaters. Blame the system for teaching the wrong thing."
@Kish_P14 Perhaps van de Ven, Senesi, van Hecke & Porro backline could work
In possession & rest defence, VDV tuck in next to Senesi, while van Hecke step up as Stones-style libero to function as pivot passer
In low block, van Hecke & Senesi defend the box, with VDV defend wide on left
@Kish_P14 Even setting football aside, Lee Kang-in is no-brainer signing for ENIC to keep Spurs exposure & huge fanbase in South Korea — that financial upside alone should already attract ENIC a lot
Plus, Kang-in’s b2b UCL winner experience at PSG would be huge for Spurs this young squad
So, here’s my look at Andoni Iraola’s in-possession concepts.
Tried to move away from the usual structure/numbers analysis and instead understand his side’s intentions and behaviours on the ball.
(Unfortunately) space arrivals rather than occupation, playing in threes, changes of tempo, and so on are all signs of concepts that should translate well to Liverpool.
@Talking_spurss Nagelsmann also used Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman & Gnabry a lot at Bayern, and even Pep, he keeps changing how he uses wide attackers every season
@charlieparrish Gonçalo Ramos’ ball striking is elite, that’s sadly uncommon for most strikers now
Spurs don’t need a tactical #9 anymore — we need someone who can actually shoot & score
Gonçalo, Marmoush & Osimhen are among the few attacker options in market who can do that
@TekkerzElite Sad that we need to consider Abde Ezzalzouli as a top player transfer target when we were watching Sonny, Bale & Ginola at the left winger
I appreciate Ezzalzouli, but so far max at the level of Pedro Neto
Spurs’ list of “world-class” Sporting Director probably isn’t that long
Unlikely dream target
Campos, Krösche
Ideal man
Freedman, Paul Mitchell, Tiago Pinto, Longoria
Surprising bet
Ross Wilson, Salihamidžić, Neppe, Ribalta, Hardung
Hope the board is smart & land one of them
My gut feeling on the two scenarios I mention in this piece, for those interested, is that Johan Lange remains for now to support the new sporting director either in a handover capacity or in a supporting role. They need to get things going for De Zerbi. https://t.co/FRY1TCmP5m
I honestly wouldn’t mind selling Luka Vušković as soon as possible
He’s just one of best young players in Bundesliga, not the best player in the league, yet he’s arrogant to always show his unwillingness to play for Spurs
Come on, those “big clubs”, pay 100mil & take him out
🚨🆕 A new loan move for Luka Vuskovic to Hamburger SV is currently not a topic. No talks. No negotiations.
He also confirms our news, saying a return is “impossible”. #HSV
At the moment, there are two options: a long-term contract extension with a top salary at Tottenham, or a move to one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Talks are ongoing. @SkySportDE 🇭🇷
@InvertTheWing Whether it’s at Spurs or another club, I love the idea of turning Rafael Leão into a #9, just like Ousmane Dembélé has been doing at PSG over these two seasons
@Plettigoal No doubt European “big clubs” are interested in Luka Vušković, but do not forget he’s still under contract with Spurs until 2030
Even if Spurs were open to selling this summer, I’m not sure any of those “big clubs” would pay €80m+ for him this summer
