@hedgefundmafia -if the loans are good, why wouldn't I own the loans?
-if you were a good manager, why would you sell the equity?
- The mezz seems like an expensive way to turn loans into a bond.
A newly published study by economists at Georgetown and NYU found no correlation between changes in profit margins and industry-level inflation https://t.co/BUMsPjVo0m
I know it's wrong to make assumptions about people. But if you don't picture some sort of hilarious athletic contest everytime you read 'strong bread flour', then you're the wrong sort of person. or an actual Baker.
@heyyitsjanea my grandad got him and my grandma a joint headstone for their anniversary, thinking it was romantic to have one together and to not have to worry about it. She did not agree. Sat in their garden for years.
@M_PaulMcNamara Myths and legends. Retelling of all sorts of stories in a fun way, mot overly comic, but nicely seasoned with comic dialogues and sarcasm.
@odtorson True, but overall there are more very high quality luxury products being made than ever. Counterintuitively though, it's harder to find them than ever, because brands are an increasingly unreliable indicator of quality.
@odtorson good friend of mine works in fashion design and specialises in leather goods. Essentially, brands start out doing very good products, get acquired, quality declines much quicker than price.
@iburrell That's fair. I was thinking for junior journalists it (typically rightly) pushes the criticism up the chain if they can say 'we had a review and it decided it's not partiality to say XYZ' and there's a whole report to explain that thinking.
@iburrell tbf these things are probably more useful for giving confidence to reporters that they are doing the right thing when people are trying to gaslight them or argue with them.
@grodaeu@IyerC In the example, the rent is the same as a typical monthly cost of a 95% LTV mortgage. rental rites in the UK are pretty weak, and lots of landlords aren't professionals so their maintenance can be really bad.
@grodaeu@IyerC I think some of it in the UK is where there's very few apartments or multifamily housing, that's built to be rented. so small-scale landlords buy up any cheap houses, they often pay as much or more interest on the mortgages, and then are bad landlords.
Inception.
Oh a movie about dreams, I guess we can do these now we got past the 'it was all a dream' trope. - 2 hours of plot holes later- maybe it was all a dream.
