People think that people who steal from /burglarize and vandalize convenience stores deserve to be "locked up". Those same people forget that prisons require funding and programs (tax dollars) to operate and keep people safely incarcerated.
I think two things can be true at once. Once they cross the threshold they are going to feel silly having ever worried about it. They'll realise there are a lot of "functioning" adults who think/act/dress like 23 year olds... do what makes you happy regardless of your age.
everyone i know in their late 20s is having an existential crisis because we skipped our mid 20s in the pandemic. relationships fast-tracked, careers faltered, we lost those core identity-building years and now we feel like 23-year-old brains in bodies approaching 30
Ah yes, the pay gap is alive and well in Manitoba. But everyone wants to deny it, and blame women and people of colour for not choosing the right careers.

A common saying is "young people don't want to work."
I think it's more accurate to say: "young people want to be valued at work. They want to feel like they matter. And they want pay that allows them to live a comfortable life."
Lol at the people who have never heard of Photoshop and a joke before. Personally I think this is in response to our Premier saying that she met with mayor Scott Gillingham when he is currently just that: mayor-elect.
Personally, I'd really like to know what the other 75% of my area (Mynarski) would have voted for (both of existing candidates but also, if nothing suited them, what topics would get them interested).
@ScottBilleck Ultimately I voted yesterday but I considered not going because my pick was a long shot and I'm so tired of being told to 'vote strategically'. I found many options uninspiring, and those who are cannot get a foothold because all anyone wants to talk about are potholes and cops.
Once when I was young, around 8 or so, we had a garage sale. My siblings and I were killing time riding our bikes along the sidewalk and this guy stopped in. But he wasn't there to buy anything.
He went up to my mom, introduced himself and said he'd stopped because he saw us...
Since a lot of min wage jobs don't want to hire full time employees anyway, because then they tend to want benefits, safe to say this is a step in the right direction... But not the cure-all it was once lauded to be.
@Saralaise I know this women fell out of a tube but the way I've always thought of it is : No one is a strong swimmer when unconscious, and you just never know when that could happen so. Wear the vest. But I'm generally risk adverse and use PPE as needed.
The idea that parental leave for fathers is a vacation is a sad but common perception. As if you are not also impacted by the arrival of a baby, and need time to figure that out. People talk like all fathers will be absent or uninterested in caring for kids.
Leadership 101, well, maybe 102: The ability to work well with people who think differently / have different priorities than you do is a necessary skill. #Leadership
