@bluudmg@CryptoCyberia I honestly think it's just fake and they just want extreme profit margins. Cuz you can run these models, well, similar ones, yourself for literally cents per hour. So, this is either just because of compute scarcity or high profit margins. I don't think this is the true price.
@10xerik@yacineMTB No, it's actually very necessary. Putting another conveyor belt or machine there would be an engineering challenge. It's impossible.
@cory_schulz_@vibester@jun_song Interesting, I haven't used OPUS very much because I don't have a sub there and it costs too much but I didn't find it super impressive over API. I use all my models in OpenCode so maybe I used it wrong IDK.
But I'd still keep codex even for the rate limits
@cory_schulz_@vibester@jun_song When was this? I'm not denying the experience but for me I notice GPT-5.5 writes great code it just doesn't have a brain.
Claude is smarter but the code is worse and limits are lower, plus I already have a brain so I can tell it what to do(it won't figure it out)
@Solaawodiya@ihirwart@ClaudeDevs Well, I can use codecs and open code, which in my opinion is more important, since I usually use the open models after I run out of codecs.
@RichardHanania I think socialism solves the problems of late-stage capitalism, but capitalism at the start is probably better. I mean, just look at the US as it was coming up and look at it now. Capitalism has a peak. At a certain point, it peaks and heads down from there.
