Today is $SCHD’s dividend payment date, and every quarter I see many of the same questions. Here are a few quick answers:

❓I don’t see my dividend yet. Did something go wrong?

Probably not. Different brokerages process dividend payments at different times. In my experience, Fidelity and Schwab usually credit them before the market opens. Robinhood typically credits them later in the evening, while Vanguard and some other brokerages may not credit them until the following day.

❓How can I tell if I’ve already been paid?

Check your brokerage’s transaction or history tab. If your dividend has been processed, you’ll usually see it there even if your account balance or holdings haven’t fully updated yet. If you still don’t see it, don’t panic. It may simply be your brokerage’s normal processing schedule.

❓Why did someone else get paid before I did?

The timing depends on your brokerage’s processing schedule, not on $SCHD. Everyone doesn’t receive their dividend at the exact same time.

❓How does DRIP determine my purchase price?

If you’re enrolled in DRIP, your dividend will generally be reinvested at whatever market price your brokerage purchases the shares. Because each brokerage processes reinvestments at different times, the reinvestment price can vary slightly from one brokerage to another.

❓When your dividend reinvests, let me know:

• What reinvestment price did you get?
• How many new $SCHD shares did your dividend buy?
