I built CipherRain: Code Wallpaper—live digital rain for Mac. This account is now its developer-run home.
Four colors. Your choice. $4.99 US once. M1+ / macOS 14+. Desktop only.
Native renderer export; color changes arranged for this demo.

Things CipherRain will not do: replace your lock screen, run as a screen saver, run on Windows, run on your iPhone, phone home. Things it will do: rain Matrix-style code behind your windows on an Apple silicon Mac. Scope is a feature.
Your words in the rain stay on your computer. I keep CipherRain's settings and custom text local; the title you enter isn't uploaded to a service. A personal desktop message can stay personal.
Six symbol styles, all native fonts: Classic, Narrow, Terminal, Operator, Dense, Legacy. Same rain, six handwritings. Pick a favorite before the clip ends.
Native Retina renderer export from CipherRain; style switches timed for the demo.
Symbol size is its own control in my app, CipherRain. A larger symbol gives the pattern a different visual weight; it doesn't require turning up the glow. Try size first if you want the code easier to see.
Before: a mountain photo you stopped seeing in 2023.
After: columns of Ice Blue code sliding behind your windows while you work.
The mountain is still there. Click Stop and it comes back.
Privacy in my app, CipherRain: no analytics, ads, or app data collection. I want the wallpaper to be something you choose for your desktop, without an account or a tracking layer attached to it.
"Won't a live wallpaper eat my battery?" Fair question. CipherRain's battery-aware mode caps playback at 24 fps on battery or in Low Power Mode. You pick the frame rate; I don't promise hours.

kurzgesagt has 25M subs and they still go viral with 15M+ views on every single video for years
nobody copies them because every video takes a full studio of animators and months of work
i rebuilt their format with opus 5.5, 100% code for $0 per video, on the left is my own version i created
he probably averages $150k+ earning per video
9 years ago he posted how he makes 1 video in 1200 hours, i re created this in literally 10 minutes for free (check in comments)
would u guys be interested if i turned this into a free claude skill you can use?
I just made an investigation into AI companies.
An AI edited the entire video.
Not a single frame was generated.
Here's what happened 👇
Episode 11 of my series Who Gets to Decide looks at people who got cut off from AI services, then found out their data was kept or used without their permission.
I worked out the concept with Claude. We went back and forth until the story actually held up.
Then I gave it control of my computer.
It opened Adobe After Effects and built the edit itself. It handled the layers, the timing, the motion, and the cuts, clicking through the same menus a human editor would.
There's no text-to-video and no fake footage. Nobody typed a prompt and got a video back.
It didn't generate anything. It did the work.
So yes, I used AI to investigate AI companies.
I know how that sounds.
But these tools are already in our hands. The real question is who controls them, and who controls what they take from us.
Who gets to decide?
Watch Episode 11 below, then tell me:
Is using AI to call out AI hypocrisy, or the smartest way to do it?

Green phosphor terminals, CRT hum, a cursor blinking at 2 a.m. I can't give you the hum. I can give your Mac the glow: Emerald Green, Terminal symbol style, long trails. #cyberpunk
