"My motivation to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's is my Grandmother who passed from Alzheimer’s and my Aunt who is living with dementia," shares Larry. "This is a long-standing walk -- and organization -- and I plan to stay involved because it’s very important to me."
Today we recognize aunts and uncles impacted by Alzheimer’s or another dementia. For many of us, aunts and uncles are special family members — sharing their wisdom and love across generations. 💜 We fight to #ENDALZ in their honor and all those facing dementia. #AuntAndUncleDay
On #InternationalSelfCareDay take some time to prioritize self-care and make it a part of your daily routine. A great place to start is with these 10 Healthy Habits for Your Brain: https://t.co/KIHM0GkImN.
The chapter offered @PhillyTrib tips, including making a plan, preparing for behavioral challenges, staying informed, and how to gain additional resources and support during the hot summer months -- such as accessing the Alzheimer's Association 24/7 Helpline (800.2772.3900).
@CBSPhiladelphia's medical reporter, Stephanie Stahl, shared findings from a new study released at this week's Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC).
The study provides insight into brain health among former elite professional soccer players. Findings indicate former players reported high levels of depression, anxiety of difficulties with thinking and decision making.
Research from #AAIC26 shows progress across Alzheimer's—from promising tau research and blood tests to risk reduction. As Dr. Maria Carrillo said, "We're beginning to prepare for what that future is going to look like, and it's exciting." Via @TIME: https://t.co/8eaZrgNXMz
New from #AAIC26: A blood test may help predict risk of cognitive decline due to Alzheimer’s a decade before symptoms appear. Learn More: https://t.co/v3ZyuHWVLE
"It's inspiring to see how many people get involved for the cause. I will walk and fundraise for as long as I am able."
