Amoud Secondary School Alumni. My RSL is a sovereign state meaning she is free from external control. If there is no enemy inside the enemy outside does no harm
Thank you amb. Among the other common misrepresentation of Somaliland’s legal status is calling the failed country of Somalia as ‘South Somalia’ by many including Landers implying there is a North Somalia entity. The SL gov & all Landers must reject this misrepresentation.
I viewed the latest article from Ethiopia’s institute of foreign studies @ifa_ethiopia (part of Ethiopian MFA) with a degree of interest and I wish to articulate a short answer to the flawed premise of the article.
Somaliland rejects and will always reject the notion of “operational recognition”. Recognition is inherently a political act, yet it carries profound legal and judicial consequences that precede and exist independently of any bilateral cooperation. In simple terms: Ethiopia must either formally recognise Somaliland as a sovereign state based on the principle of state continuity under international law or it does not. States equality is essential to bilateral relations. There is no meaningful middle ground.
We will not trade the inherent right to independence, which our people earned with their blood, for anything less than full and unambiguous recognition.

🚨 #Breaking - Somaliland Intelligence Service detained Mohamed Isaaq Aden, the Special Advisor to the Minister of Civil Aviation, for five days after arresting him inside the ministry headquarters. No official comment has been made on the reasons.
Described by colleagues as a powerful and influential advisor with a major role in the ministry, Aden is originally from southern Somalia. The detention has highlighted a major failing in Somaliland’s security vetting processes in how someone from Somalia was allowed to become an advisor on national security-related issues in civil aviation, which involves critical matters like airspace management and airport security.
Allegations have surfaced that he was assisting with the illegal Somalian e-visa system as a mole for the Somalian federal government.
The investigation continues.

Israel recognizes Somaliland.
Somalia's ambassador to Kenya asked Israel's ambassador to Kenya, if he could get kosher avocados only. The Israeli ambassador to Kenya told him that our avocados are only halal for Somaliland.
Then the Muslim Brotherhood mafia in Mogadishu recalled their Ambassador to Kenya 🤣

Pres Irro is reported to have declined a Turkish proposal to re-start the disastrous “wada hadal” between the failed state of Somalia & the R of SL. I commend Mr. Irro on this if it is true. We have no benefit in any such talk. Rather it will give a bad image of our just cause.
@FNCGlobalNews Somaliland is not a breakaway thats the wrong info. Somaliland was independent on 06/26/1960, while somalia was still an Italian colony. The two countries didn't have a shared constitution, which makes somalias claims of sovereignty and territorial integrity invalid.
Somethings are unacceptable. This one is one of those unforgivable acts.
Mr President, @Abdirahmanirro it’s no longer business as usual. You cannot take two steps forward and then take ten steps back into past madnesses.
Somaliland is a sovereign nation state and partners willing to work with us must recognise this reality and deal with us in a manner befitting of our status.
States conduct businesses in bilateral matters. That is it. There is no two way about it.
Even plundering Somalia’s resources couldn’t help Turkey stall the painful economic woes it’s experiencing.
The Turkish establishment speaks about Somalia as if it were their private colony, eagerly betting on massive oil and gas discoveries that will supposedly transform Turkey’s economy forever. Turkish companies already own and run every economically viable corridor in Somalia from airports, ports to total claim of blue economy.
Decolonising Somalia and removing the Turks will cost Somalians more than they can possibly imagine today.
Save this tweet. Come back in ten years.
Who is wasting his time? The people of The Rep of Somaliland who built their country from Scratch after demolition by a Somalia dictator or the Somalia that is being protected by an International army & who until today is unable to govern itself. You got to be honest w/yourselves
This is the long awaited decision, which prevents Somalia based diplomates from visiting Somaliland. I commend SL gov for protecting the sovereignty of the country.

One of the most beautiful moments during #Somaliland’s May 18 National Day celebrations in Hargeisa was the appearance of beloved content creator Mohamed Ordaaye as he moved through the packed crowds in the capital, drawing huge excitement and cheers from the public.
Ordaaye, who gained international attention after the official @acmilan account featured his famous moves in their videos, joined Somalilanders at the heart of today’s celebrations, proudly sharing in the joy and spirit of this historic national occasion with his usual energy and spontaneity.

For over 35 years, since the restoration of the Republic of Somaliland to its pre-1960 legal status, borders, and sovereignty founded on the principle of state continuity under international law following the horrific genocide perpetrated against ethnic Isaaq people (largest ethnic group in Somaliland) by Somalia’s godless Marxist regime, the Arab League has consistently worked to isolate Somaliland from the international community.
It was only when Israel formally acknowledged the existence of the sovereign Republic of Somaliland late last year that certain Arab League members suddenly took notice. Driven by deep seated hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people, they responded with outbursts of pseudo-religious vitriol.
To the President of Algeria, I say this: Somaliland is a legal and political reality. No amount of external opposition can diminish our resolve or erode our determination to survive and thrive against all odds.
The sooner you accept this, the better!
To @RealDonaldTrump@JDVance@SecRubio. Last August Senator Cruz sent this letter to the US President. Having just visited Somaliland may I endorse this letter as I believe in these troubled times it is in your national interest to do so…@tedcruz..
Five years ago, Sir David Amess, a sitting British MP, was murdered in a terrorist attack by Ali Harbi Ali, a Somalian national from Mogadishu whose father had served as a senior communications official in the Somali government as confirmed by the BBC.
Despite this, and amid repeated terror incidents in the UK involving individuals linked to Somalia, the British government has continued to provide substantial financial, technical, and military support to the Somalian regime in Mogadishu that costed British taxpayers billions. This includes tens of millions of pounds in recent years for ‘security sector reform’, lethal aid to Somalian clan paramilitaries with ties to AL-Shabaab terror group.
The British state’s priorities appear inverted: it invests heavily in propping up an illegal terrorism-plagued state abroad while failing to adequately protect its own citizens at home from the resulting threats. This misalignment has had tragic and entirely foreseeable consequences, including the deaths of British people at the hands of Islamist extremists with connections to Somalia.
To make matters worse, Britain refuses to accept the legitimacy of the Somaliland state, which keeps terrorist at pay, and elects its own government.
🧵@SenTedCruz: Somaliland stands with our allies, including Taiwan & Israel & aligns with US interests in a region where China is aggressively expanding,”“Most recently, Israel’s decision to formally recognize Somaliland in Dec. 2025 underscores its growing strategic relevance.”
