Proud to stand with @ZohranKMamdani in Little Haiti ๐ญ๐น โ a leader who shows up for New Yorkers, inspires & fights for affordability in our city. Iโm happy to endorse him for mayor. Letโs make history and unite the Democratic Party!๐ช๐พ๐ช๐พ๐ช๐พ
Little Haiti is vibrant. And itโs facing the same cost of living crisis as neighborhoods across the city.
That's why @bkdems Chair @AMBichotte and I are bringing the Democratic Party together around a shared vision for an affordable New York. I am grateful for her endorsement!
Thank you to @CityAndStateNY for naming me this weekโs biggest winner โ with 56% of the vote.
Even after headlines described @bkdems convention as โchaotic,โ the results showed our leadership resonated. Even received more votes than Mayor Mamdani. Grateful to all supporters ๐๐พ๐

The Appellate Division has again rejected the OSC filed by Jumaane Williams, Brad Lander, and George Albro. Another attempt to insert themselves into an internal Party matter shut down by the Court. The Court keeps saying NO!โคต๏ธ

The Appellate Division stayed the lowerโcourt ruling and restored our party's rights. Glad the judges werenโt swayed by nonsense misinterpretations and will hear the true merits of the case๐ช๐พ

โThe court misinterpreted the law. Elected authority and legal authority are not the same โ just like when Trump was elected in November, Biden still retained full legal authority until inauguration. The same principle applies here.โ
The rules are legal. The court did not invalidate them. The Countyโs ability to organize itself and set its own rules โ as supported by Election Law โ remains intact. The court misinterpreted the Jay Jacobs Election Law rule ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธand who is permitted to vote on rule changes. #Appeal
Today's ruling is disappointing and misinterprets the statute. The Aug. 25 meeting was lawful, and we will be appealing. Brooklyn Democrats deserve a party that will strengthen transparency and allow participation to continue. Read full statement hereโคต๏ธ

This decision is a direct attack on immigrant families who've lived here lawfully, worked here, paid taxes, & built communities. We'll continue fighting in Congress, in the courts, & in our communities to keep families together & defend the dignity of Haitian & Syrian immigrants.

Student loan debt should not be a qualifier for employment.
I passed a bill ensuring that New Yorkers are judged by their skills, their character, and their commitment โ not by the balance of a loan they took out to chase the American Dream. @NYSA_Majority@NYSBichotteHerm

Y'day I stood w/ my colleagues @SenatorSutton@LizKrueger@MicahLasher in support of @GovKathyHochul budget to include safety buffer zones around houses of worship. Todayโs senseless attack at Temple Israel in Michigan is precisely why we need this legislation. Sending prayers.
