I get the thinking. Distributing physical cases is expensive. So if you make it digital only, that is more money for development. But you alienate a lot of people by doing that.

@AvalancheJared My biggest problem with Max Payne 3 was how much of a departure it was and the lack of involvement by Remedy. Though I haven't played it in about 10 years. So maybe I would feel differently playing it now.

@AvalancheJared I'll be honest. Alan Wake 2 gave me my Silent Hill fix more than this did. Especially the section in Watery and Alan's sections. They even gave us a silent hill style map that the character marks.

This game was alright, it just didn't wow me. Made me think of layers of fear.

@mr_modicum I like how they tweaked the combat in this. It's a lot less action heavy, alleviating some of the slog issues of the first game. Relying much more on atmosphere and tension building. Which I can appreciate. I've actually jumped a few times. Bosses... yeah, lol, not the highlight.

@mr_modicum The 2 DLC chapters have the same issues as Chapter 6, but I do think they are elevated by the trippy layout and environment. Utilizing fun silent hill esque puzzles. Though they are still a slog to get through.

I loved American Nightmare. Not sure if that was included in AW:R.

@mr_modicum Oh yeah! The final chapter is a never ending onslaught and not really in a fun way. Chapter 6 is the one I dread on replays. I love Chapter 5 because of the banter between the characters as you fight the onslaught. Chapter 6 doesn't have that, making it more of a drag to play.

@mr_modicum I've just started it. I'm liking it so far. Trying to keep my expectations reasonable. I've been a massive fan of the original since it came out in 2010. So finally being able to return to this world is a dream come true. Though I haven't decided how I feel about the changes yet.
