Enough is Enough!

On Friday, the world lost an amazing person due to hate.

Laura Carleton, a 66-year-old mom of nine children, was shot and killed by Travis Ikeguchi, simply for flying a Pride flag outside of her store in Cedar Glen, California.

Ikeguchi, who had previously posted anti-LGBTQ+ content on Twitter (X), walked into Carleton’s shop and yelled homophobic slurs as he tore down the flag. When Carleton confronted him, he shot and killed her.

Carleton didn’t identify as LGBT+ but was a strong ally and a strong supporter of human rights.

Ikeguchi’s X account, which is still active, currently displays an image of a burning Pride Flag, pinned to the top of his profile. He also has posted a lot of pro-Russia, anti-Biden, anti-abortion content on his account to go along with more Christian themed posts.

It baffles me how someone can be both pro-Christian and “pro-life” while also being someone who takes an innocent life because of a difference of opinion.

Will this ever end?
