One of the most overlooked forms of wealth is having complete ownership of your time.
Waking up and knowing nothing about your day will be decided by someone else is priceless.
Nigeria's minimum wage is ₦70,000 a MONTH.
The UK's minimum wage is £12.71 an HOUR.
A British worker on minimum wage earns about £2,200 a month working full-time. That's roughly ₦4.7 million at current exchange rates. Meanwhile, a Nigerian worker earns ₦70,000 for the entire month.
What's even more insulting is that some groceries are cheaper in the UK than in Nigeria. Milk, apples, potatoes and other basics often cost less there despite their workers earning hundreds of times more.
We earn like ants and spend like elephants.
The cruelty isn't just the poverty. It's that our leaders watch millions struggle to survive and act as if this is normal. Remi Tinubu thinks her husband is doing us a favour by building “coastal road” because “flight is expensive”
I hate it here.
I’m amazed at people who are addicted to consuming content that triggers them.
Can never be me. If the algorithm starts to move weird, I immediately start pushing the “not interested” and “show less content like this” buttons.
One of my favorite things about traveling is how it shatters the illusion that the life you’ve always known is the only way to live. It reminds you that there are countless ways to live, and yours is just one of them.
No girl is born dreaming of motherhood. That idea is taught. From dolls to toy strollers, girls are conditioned early for caregiving and reproduction, while boys aren't. We're taught this is our purpose, yet the risks of pregnancy and childbirth, even death, are rarely acknowledged. This isn't instinct. It's social conditioning.
People will steal public Funds, Set up private businesses and start looking for honest people to manage the businesses for them.
Reality Of Nigeria Today. 📌
fuel is no longer subsidized. even federal universities, which are supposed to be affordable, are now expensive. we're paying a fortune for gas. housing is out of reach for many people. security is non-existent.
so what exactly is the government doing for us?
One thing adulting has taught me is that l am not above anything. Homelessness, death, no job..
Literally anything can happen. Hence I must never be too quick to speak over situations I've never found myself in. No one is above anything not even your good actions can save you from your fair share of trials. life crazy like that.
Tables turn, Always stay humble & be grateful.
Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه said:
“My friend (the Prophet ﷺ) advised me to do three things and I shall not leave them till I die, these are: To fast three days every month, to offer the Duha prayer, and to offer witr before sleeping.”
[Sahih Bukhari: 1178]
