With the price hike in Nigeria and all the police settlements, the traders decided to look locally for their products. They then turned to filling stations where they buy at 850frs to sell at 1000frs/L. This causes fuel shortage at the very few stations still operational in Bda.

The fuel situation in Bda; when the black market determines the living cost of the people. The coming of the #AnglophoneCrisis saw the rise in contraband products in the streets of Bda, from Nigeria. Amongst them, fuel, commonly known as "fingie" or "zua-zua".

While official price at filling stations was at 850 FRS/L, zua-zua sold between 700-800frs/L and of course, with it own issues to the engine. With the divesting fall of the niara, the price changed to 850 and then 1000frs/L. Price the filling station remained at 850frs.
