More than 20 migrants have died in the English Channel today while trying to reach Britain.

I have reported on this since the crossings first started in 2018 and have been to Calais, Dunkirk, Dover and out to sea.

Some observations I think are worth noting… a short thread:

• I saw this with my own eyes and was shocked. It went on the front page of the Telegraph and caused a real stir. They didn’t stop.

• Now, the UK border force is overstretched, the RNLI is overstretched and a tragedy has occurred. 7/8
