Vergoeding? Nee?
@dan_abramov Alright, makes sense. Especially when called inside components. I do see some merit in what @MaterialUI is doing with makeStyles - more of a setup thing to prep useStyle.
Thanks for the insight!
Experimenting with hooks - and eventually ended up creating some higher-order hooks (or hook-creator, whatever). Would this be an acceptable pattern, or are there any issues with performance/rendering I should be aware of? @dan_abramov #react
Specifics don't matter -- this is for a mapping-library react wrapper.
I'm just wondering if creating the hook inside a component on each render with a HOF is an issue or not.. π€

In any case, I can't count the times a flux pattern has saved my ass in a large scale application.
I get it, though,.. sagas are overkill for a simple todo app. But in my experience, that "boilerplate" these articles talk about, is simply good practice architecture.
With all these articles about simple, boilerplate free state management going around, I'm left to wonder,... What environment are you all working in? I'm guessing smaller teams, with small-scale applications?
Filing a ticket to tech support in 2018 still feels like a scene from The IT Crowd to me.
Yes, I tried turning it off and on again.
Yes, I set the correct authorization header with a valid token.
Yes, I know what I'm doing, please just admit your API is broken.

State of JS 2018 results are always fascinating, and I'm truly thankful for the effort put in. It's a fantastic way to figure out the latest trends.
But oh dear lord, could you guys please not use red colours for positive responses... π#badUX#StateOfJS
Looking at the @IKEAtoday Place app, I gotta say,... that's a neat UI. Well done to the dev team over there!
Still wondering what #AugmentedReality means for you as a user? -- This app's a great use case.
and yes, if you're wondering,... this is a response to the frustration I've felt over the years with dealing with all kinds of UI component libraries.
E.g. ever tried customising a material-ui component? It's not as flexible as I would like.
Does anyone know of decent react "white-label" component libraries (components that handle functionality for you, without enforcing overrides for UI customisation)? Got some ideas in that direction, looking for inspiration
