Some very smart looking interns getting ready to make their graduation speeches. Congratulations to all our graduates this year, your hard work and perseverance has been an inspiration. We look forward to hearing all about your future successes.
Brilliant to catch up with our Supported Internship alumni. Thanks to everyone for making the effort to come and join in with the event π Can't quite believe this our 5th year @dfnsearch@WhitHealth
Our learner 'Celebration of Achievement' award ceremonies happened this week. It was wonderful to celebrate with learners, parents and staff, and acknowledge the hard work our young people have put in this academic year.
We set up a mock polling station at the Supported Internship today so our interns could practice voting. It is so important for our young people to impartially be empowered to vote and have their say. @Natspec
That moment when...you get your first full-time job! Huge congratulations to Prince, from our Supported Internship, who was successful in his application for a role as Distribution Officer in Barnet Hospital πππ
We are thrilled to be continuing to work with @WellGroundedHQ to provide barista training and taster days for our young people. Here, two of our West Thames learners are getting to grips with the different parts of the coffee machines.
A sea of green, and an excuse for some movement for staff, to celebrate 'Wear it Green' day at our West Thames College Campus, to raise awareness of mental health - Great work everyone π’
This is Thomas, a therapy dog from Spread a Smile. Thomas came up to the base-room to visit all our supported interns after Sophie worked with him and his owner on the children's ward. He was a very popular visitor! @spreadasmileuk
This Thursday we are taking part it 'Wear it Green Day' to raise awareness around mental health. The theme this year is 'movement' - movement can have a positive effect on mental health and help to reduce anxiety. Looking forward to seeing your green outfits
Congratulations to all learners and staff who helped to raise Β£336 by taking part in Walk for Autism 2024 ππππΆπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπππ
We are always looking to expand our enrichment offer at the college. Today we ran our first DJ sessions for both 1:1 instruction and groups of learners with Noise Academy. This CoNEL learner looking very at home on the decks π§
It's important that learners are heard and have a say when it comes to the curriculum offer at college, which is why we are so grateful to our learner council reps. They help us understand what lessons are working, and what we need to improve on to help our college cohort thrive
Keeping ourselves safe online is such an important skill to learn. Here one of our learners is completing a comprehension exercise around the rules of posting appropriate photos on social media.
All our learners have access to contactless cards so that they can learn how to use ATMs, tap cards to pay for travel and goods, and understand how to keep cards and PIN numbers safe. Here is one of our CoNEL learners using an ATM independently for the first time.
Sometimes getting the job (or apprenticeship in this case) you want means knocking on a lot of doors, attending interviews, and keeping your spirits up. So well done to this supported intern, on his 3rd interview for a Lab Assistant apprenticeship this week and still smiling π
