Clarification

A video is being circulated on social media in which an individual claims to be a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector who had recently resigned from service to join the ongoing protest.

The claim is false. Verification of Delhi Police records has found no Sub-Inspector matching the details claimed in the video.

The video is false, misleading, and appears to be a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation. Strict legal action will be taken against those found creating, circulating, or amplifying such fake content.

The public is advised to rely only on official information issued by Delhi Police and refrain from sharing unverified claims.

A friend of mine, who happens to be an MBA student with a decent job, asked me whether I support the ongoing protest

When I asked him why do you think I should support the protest?

He said:

> India has the highest debt of 500 lakh crore
> Highest unemployment rate in the world
> No new education institutions
> Primary schools getting closed
> Highest inflation in the world
> Per capita GDP very low in comparison to other countries in the world
> Students not being able to crack competitive exams
> Multiple paper leaks
> Vishwaguru is JUMLA

I was surprised to see how someone so educated could be so misinformed.

I answered to his questions:

> In 2014, India's external debt stood at around 23.9% of GDP (approximately ₹55 lakh crore)

Today, it is around 19.1% of GDP (about ₹181 lakh crore). This is nowhere close to the ₹500 lakh crore figure he mentioned

> Sudan has the highest unemployment rate in the world not India, India currently has an unemployment rate of 5.5%. In global comparisons among major economies, India performs better than countries like France (8.1%) and Spain (10.83%)

> In 2014, India had 16 IITs, 7 AIIMS, 13 IIMs, and 9 IIITs. Today, there are 23 IITs, 22 AIIMS, 20 IIMs, and 25 IIITs

> Venezuela has the highest inflation rate in the world not India, India is performing the best even in the ongoing wars with inflation below 4.5%

> India's per capita income has increased by more than 45% since 2014

> The inability to crack competitive exams is largely an individual outcome. However, the government's role is to ensure a fair, transparent, and merit-based examination system

> If we are comparing with the past, the situation was worse. Even high school examination papers used to be leaked. That said, paper leaks remain unacceptable, and there must be strict accountability

> Any country that confers its highest civilian honour does not do so without recognizing a person's influence, contribution, or global stature. Whether one agrees with the term "Vishwaguru" or not, India's growing international standing cannot be dismissed

I have no issue with anyone protesting or criticizing the government. In fact, that's a fundamental right in a democracy. But if your arguments don't stand up to basic fact-checking, then you're not challenging the government, you're simply spreading misinformation.

Reclaim JNU

कल JNUSU चुनाव परिणाम के पश्चात एक पोस्ट किया था। उसमें कुछ कामपंथी एवं कुतर्की इतिहासबोध सिखाने लगे। लेकिन इस प्रश्न का उत्तर नहीं दे पाए कि वर्ष भर आपस में साँप-नेवले की तरह लड़ने वाले कामपंथी चुनाव आते ही गीदड़ झुण्ड क्यों बना लेते हैं ? आखिर उन्हें भी यह पता है कि यह उनका अंतिम क़िला है और इसका भरभराकर गिरना नियति है। सावधानी हटी और वामपंथ की JNU में हलवा-पूड़ी बंटी।
बहरहाल रही बात इतिहास की तो यह सुखद है कि जिन कामियों ने ABVP एवं राष्ट्रीय विचार के इतिहास को धूमिल करने में कोई कोर कसर नहीं छोड़ी, आज उन्हें JNU में अभाविप के इतिहास को जानने की अतिशय जिज्ञासा है।
1991- 2000 का दशक यह वह समय था जब JNU में ABVP अपने शिखर पर थी। इस काल में ABVP ने सह सचिव, उपाध्यक्ष तथा महामंत्री के पदों पर जीत दर्ज की थी। इसी समय गोविन्द चंद्र मिश्रा भैय्या, रश्मि दीदी, जतिन मोहन्ती भैय्या आदि विजय हुए थे। 2000 में पहली बार ABVP ने JNUSU में संदीप महापात्रा भैय��या के रूप में अपना अध्यक्ष देखा था। यह अभाविप के सभी संगठनशरण कार्यकर्ताओं के अनथक परिश्रम एवं निष्ठा का ही परिणाम था।
ABVP ने JNU में उत्कर्ष और अपकर्ष दोनों देखा है। अब समय है JNU को फिर से Reclaim करने का और ABVP JNU यह अवश्य करेगी।
